Reading up on the Fukashima disaster has me thinking. Shouldn't the people decide, if we want a Nuclear plant built. And I don't mean the people of Japan, I mean there should literally be a vote from every citizen on the planet anytime any undertaking can effect a large group of people. Remember scientist made that Hadron Collider with the very small risk of oh yeah ENDING THE WORLD. shouldn't the entire population of the planet have been like :whoa: Naw, fukk that, you might be smarter than us, but what if the worst actually happened.

Remember scientist building the fukking Death flu just because they could do it? Shouldn't they have to answer to the people of the world, before something like that is undertaken?

A bit different from sentencing criminal to potentially causing global deaths on a massive scale A Hole.

Breh, it's a stupid question regardless :comeon:

People in power have authority to do certain shyt. Like start wars, bomb countries, and execute people. Stop asking stupid questions breh :camby:

That's what he was trying to say.

even though we outnumber them...if shyt was to go down the powers that be have all sorts of weapons and stuff we don't know about to pacify us.

How are you gonna whisper over a loudspeaker? How you are going to fight a tank with a slingshot? That's what the point of that was.

Most of us don't want this stuff...but they do what they want cause they make the rules and essentialy run the show.

My bad then. I'm just saying, why isn't that type of shyt questioned

People are passive and apathetic in general IMO. This generation of people in the first world are spoiled and don't know what they're fighting for cause honestly, they don't know who THEY are or what they stand for...not to mention at the end of the day people are trying to do them and they could care less about what's actually going on. Not enough to make a dent anyways.

Those that know themselves are the ones doing it and running the show and the people are just satisfied with a roof over their heads, a plate of food on the table, and whatever else they can spend their money on. Believe me, if people really cared to show any sort of cause of concern over what the powers that be do other than protesting...they would be worried.

exactly my point. they shouldnt have the POWER (ba dum ching) to directly make decisions about nuclear power...and other things they really dont understand.

Not too many people in this country have college degrees or are relatively educated...less than 30%. And as well this country has a low percentage of high school graduates compared to others. I'm not using this as a barometer of intelligence but when it comes to certain things to judge and decipher information like nuclear power...well it requires a fair amount of research on the subject that most people don't care to do or commit time towards.

Most people here are willfully ignorant as well. And there have been some really questionably dumb figures that have been elected to political positions simply due to connections. This place is a sea of C-/D+ students.
