Nas and The Source are the ones who are documented in saying Em murdered Jay on the song though. Neither of them fit the typical Eminem stan description you gave. That was my point.

Who people gravitate towards has nothing to do with who had the best verse. We're not talking about fans of either artist who will side with one or the other just because. This is something that was a legitimate Hip Hop discussion.

Exactly as if Nas wasn't bias and the source didn't have it's share of Dave Mays guests in the house of hip hop.

The rest of your post..blah blah blah. That's what I'm reading. Who has the best verse is an OPINION. If you read my post before this I highlight how Hov even predicts the fukkery and ask how can you judge something you can't relate to. Hov verse is talking about the system. If you ain't got no melanin you can't feel it from Hov s point of view.

Nas's bias is beside the point. He doesn't fall into the category of Em stannery that you described. Now you're bringing Dave Mays into it. Again, it's irrelevant.

Yes, it's an opinion, which is why it's laughable that people are actually trying to argue this as a fact. Jay Z didn't predict anything. He gave a valid observation of how music isn't viewed as music, but as something that people rate even if they don't relate. It's not about the system. That line includes the fan that will listen to a verse, a song, or an album and assign a numeric value to it. Like, saying that song, album, or verse is a 2/5.

Race had nothing to do with Jay Z's verse. Much of what Jay says in his verse is even exclusive to Black people. If you think you have to be Black to feel that verse from his point of view, the whole point of the song is lost. There's Black people who criticize Jay Z for his content just like there's mainstream/Pop America who criticize Jay for his content. His verses were addressing them all regardless of race.

Shady was better no doubt. Not a big fan of either but i think Blueprint is the best Hip Hop album of the 00s. JayZ himself said Em had the better verse, damn near every head when it dropped before Ether came out was saying Em outshined him.

Wayne did a milli, 50 did a milli
'Ye too but what Em did was silly
The white boy blossomed after Dre endorsed him
His flow on "Renegade," fukkin awesome, applaud him

stop tryna rewrite history brehs lol. If u prefer JayZs verse thats cool but objectively Em was better on that track

i honestly don't understand why white people feel their opinions matter on hip hop. they lack the essence of hip hop, which is rhythm. dudes can't even dance on beat yet tryna tell people who out rapped who

The 5 Boroughs
nikkas gonna dodge the fukk outta that one

Or...

The same rhetoric will follow:

-the source is ran by c00ns
-they need white acceptance
-that magazine is trash anyways

Wasn't the source dikk riding Jay hard at that time so when nikkaz come with those excuses you know it's short bus time

Me not liking most whites aside, I always wondered why people said Jay got killed on this track. Em's verse was decent at best, Jay's verse was real life for inner city youth, not a typical white boy rant.

When someone hasn't dropped a decent album in literally 10 years, he should never be mentioned among greats. This is simply another case of black people being accommodating and friendly to outsiders.

When a white is decent at something that comes natural to a lot of us, our inner self-hatred makes us believe the white is great. Eminem is the Jason "White Chocolate" Williams of rap.

That doesn't apply to this song when Eminem clearly had a much better flow and rhythm.
