Problem is Stringer isn't a business partner. He's under Avon, a subordinate and he tried using Avon's organization for his ends.

Stringer may have been right but Avon was still his boss and I'd say he had to go as soon as he started putting his ambitions before Avon's interests. :yeshrug:

stringer wasn’t some peon. he was as much a business partner as Avon had. they were just going in different directions. when Avon ignored stringers concern about supply and brought mouzone in that would’ve been the beginning of my transition out. I wouldn’t have tried to get mouzone hit but I would’ve been looking to leave.

In that game your only ambition should be to get away as clean as you can and turn your money over.

Stringer bell fans are funny. Says alot about a nikka
Don’t make any sense cause Avon was right about everything. He said that co op shyt wasn’t gonna work. Marlo took it over. He told string you can’t run this like a business cause marlo would get the rep and name for running them off, that’s exactly what happened. Told him not to play those fukking away games.. he lost big bread getting schemed by Clay Davis. I mean even when Avon got arrested, he had the scope on Marlo and Chris alone at the shop. And was rolling up with a crew deep, automatics and fukking grenades.

If string just listened, marlo would be dead, they’d have their half of bmore back, and then string would have no trouble trying his ideas. Even would have mouzone on the team in case Omar came back (another dumb idea from String to do a truce with Omar).

Dude was book smart but a damn idiot on the street. Kill your mans nephew so you can fukk his bum ass baby momma brehs.

And who got all the shyt he wanted in the end? Marlo. How he get it? Strong arming like a young Avon. That’s the streets. Same questions D was asking season 1, why can’t we sell drugs without the extra shyt. Cause you can’t. Streets don’t work like that. There’s always a young nikka with no morals, gunning for your spot

Preach!
Anybody still taking up for Stringer at this point always gonna get that
second look like :patrice:

His snake ass was never built for the game from start to finish. I just
hated it took Avon going to jail to see that Stringer had no
street sense whatsoever.

Asking a hitter who hit him :mjlol:

WHHHHHYYYYYY!?

The Co- Op was some totalitarian democracy bullshyt.

As soon as the groups vote went against Joe's interest we saw who had the real power.

Marlo saw that shyt and so did Rick.

"I tell you one thing the motherfukker who did Joe, he the one who got the connect"

That shyt was a consolidation of power for Joe...without the stress of actually claiming to be the kingpin.

The rest of them dudes were at terms with it even after Omar cause they were still eating good...But Marlo craved that Power.

You 100 percent right.

Finally somebody who understands what happened on the show. It's crazy how many people didn't see the grand picture. They see Stringer wearing glasses and reciting some community college economics and they think he's a genius.

Dude was jerking them dudes left and right too. Omar stole their shyt and he had them paying extra money on the dollar to line his pockets. Actually he gave up the location in the first place. And Avon’s number. And more shyt.

I can’t even remember how many times I’ve watched this series completely. There are so many damn layers and double meaning. Like somebody else said, bout time for another rewatch. It’s just too deep

Stringer made a lot of bad decisions on the show. Season 1 gave the green light to kill Orlando. Season 2 going behind Avon's back and making a deal with Prop Joe and killing D, fukk D's baby mama behind his back, setting up Brother Mouzone, questioning Mouzone about who shot him. Season 3 not killing Marlo in the beginning, giving money to Clay Davis and trying to have him killed, confessing to killing D, snitching on Avon. Even when they were kids Stringer tried to steal a bad minton set that Avon told him not too. Avon was always smarter than Stringer, but also more hot head. But, Stringer is partially responsible for bring down the Barksdale's organization
