Aiight fam real question. Why was/is Dwight Howard a superstar? Why is KD a superstar? I have a problem or disconnect with these two personally. D12...man we talking about a guy who has been the most dominant C of his time by default because there were no other legit C's during his reign. This man never developed. He had some good years in Orlando but being the most athletic C we've since Wilt in a league absent of viable big men, Dwight should've been avg at least 30 ppg, 15 rpg AND upwards of 6 dimes a game because he was surrounded by SHOOTERS to kick out to out of double teams in Orlando. Where is his post game? How do you work with Hakeem and not develop anything? He has no heart, he's soft and he's not a winner. Why is he a superstar? Why was he ever considered as such?

My prob with KD is that he only does one thing well and that is score. He's doesn't commit on defense. Not the lock down defender a 6'11 long wing should be. Doesn't do anything particularly well but score. The only difference between he and Melo (someone who we rip apart) is a finals appearance. I know Melo is more selfish but can you blame him? Who else is he going to look to for scoring? Give Melo the weapons like KD has and he'd be just as successful like he was in Denver.

My point is that a superstar should still affect the game in more than one way if he's not scoring. You take KD's shot away, he's absent. D12 is just a dominant defender/rebounder and thats good enough to be an allstar but never a superstar. Blake Griffin came in exactly like D12, a raw, athletic big man who could dunk. 6 years later, Blake is catching bodies with his post game AND a nice mid range J. Since Dwight came in, what has he improved on? Can we leave the superstar title to the players that deserve it. KD can get there, but he's not there yet. Just a glorified scorer on a great team.

I mean, I respect KD as player. I understand he's a great player and an effective scorer. But when you think of superstars, I think it should be both ends. MJ was a great scorer but also a lockdown defender. The same for Kobe, great scorer and could lock you down when he committed. Kobe is also an underrated playmaker because of his obvious scoring ability. Don't even need to mention LBJ. DWade was a scorer, playmaker and a great man defender. These guys were never looked at as players who did one thing well. They were multi-dimensional. KD just not that guy yet in my book.
