Bruh the Hat has been around for years and not just because of the pastrami....Na Breh, INO always stayed with me as having good ass burgers. I’m pretty sure I woulda remembered Hat having the same.
The quality per price makes it tough to beat. You get a better burger at Five Guys but it'll cost 2x. You get a cheaper burger at McDonalds/BK but it tastes way worse. In N Out is a good middle ground -- it's priced well, all fresh ingredients, made to order, good quality control, and customer service just slightly below Chick Fil A. The secret menu and West Coast exclusivity are extras that make it feel unique.
Double double, grilled onions, chopped chiles, hits everytime
Don't In and Out put slice cheese on their fries instead of liquid cheese

It's a solid burger and they provided Chik Fila level service before a lot of people experienced that
They have some of the worst fries out there tho
To look at it another way In-N-Out would be the top affordable burger in most states, only real competitors are like 2x-3x the price

Yeah their cheese fries are absolute WOAT. The animal style fries are the only fries worth getting.Don't In and Out put slice cheese on their fries instead of liquid cheese
If I'm eating in, it's animal fries. If I'm carrying out, I'm just getting 2 burgers no fries because the animal fries turn to Quikrete after 10 mins.
