Olive oil is good to rub on the skin and to injest, i was just reading this in an Islamic book about medicine. I use it in my beard in order to keep it from being dry and brittle.

It isn't the reading level of the book that is important. What is important is the message you learn from it. Even books for kindergarteners can teach you valuable lessons. No, I do not expect you to look at everything with the Kite Runner in mind, but if I saw something like "how you get fired on your day off" then I bet you're sure going to know what I'm referencing.
