Why do wrestlers think this over confident douche witty heel role works?

It dawned on me when watching this

On the mic and general persona, as heels,

Curtis Axel = Brad Maddox = fandango = dolph ziggler = the miz = Mr. kennedy = over confident boastful jackasses who fall FLAT with the crowd and think theyre better than they are and actually buy into their own hype...they desperately try to get catchphrases over and they never work.

Kennedy was like the first of them, and the heat they get...isnt good heat. They dont back up their words with actions and have a major disconnect with real wrestling psychology. None of their chaactors outside of dancing fandango are different from each other and none of them work. Many people find them to be super bootleg Rock clones (which in and of itself would make you a ventura clone but thats a different thread) and thats fair...but are you as tired of this type of guy as I am? THESE are the real vanilla migets to me.

i think Fandango is still legit

the rest are bad though, the reason Fandango works is because he really lives his character

the rest of em may as well be create-a-wrestlers

i get sick of the shyt like Sandow or even Jericho when he's a heel....it just gets tired over time...Sandow is essentially the Hunter Hearst Helmsley character but smart and with less style...

just seems really easy to try to cut a wannabe Bobby Heenan promo shytting on the crowd for cheap heat...then you got Del Rio who would do legit despicable things to faces but the crowd gave 0 fukks.

I think that's the biggest problem. You can't be a serious overconfident guy and never back up your words with legit Ws. You can't expect to crowd to buy into that kind of character, they might get some heat because they are annoying but that's not the kind of heat that will make the people pay money or tune in the channel to watch them get beat. It's fine for a midcard act though.

The only guy a remember that had this kind of gimmick, had the actions to back it up and didn't work was Del Frio. He's such a weird case imo.

The OCD Heel is too stereotype, which shows the flaws of one character. A wrestler should be a reflection of a person's personality, with some variations. Straight Edge Punk was when Punk was trillin.

The Miz is best as a Entertainment Heel, he should flaunt that he got his WWE job because of MTV; he has the good lucks, the body and the charm to get what he wants. He is what people want to look like everyday when they see themselves in the mirror, and that no matter how many ab crunches they try they still would no look like him.

Curtis Axel should boast about being entitled because of his father's name, that he is genetically gifted with athleticism.

Curtis Axel just has no charisma :snooze:

They should just put a mask on him and have him start over with a new name.
