You all off base with the exception that the city largely embraces them...

When I left California in the early 00s I went straight to Virginia, this was during the peak of Iverson's run. There was an authenticity to Iverson that Morant doesn't have, and VA embraced him because he was one of our own. The shyt Iverson got mixed up in didn't feel like some contrived, prove you're tough shyt. You may not have been around then if you think AI and Ja have similar arcs in life...

The city embraces them but they don't represent the true culture of the city. I don't know what to tell you bro. Maybe you gotta actually know what the culture of Memphis is like to feel what I'm saying...
Dapped/repped….would do it again if I could :salute::salute::salute:

I don’t hate the Grizzlies

They have done nothing to make me hate them. They gotta make real postseason noise to draw any ire out of me.

Yea it may be a blue collar city but to black people who hip to rap it’s a rap pioneer city and urban culture city in the same vein as Houston and Atlanta. I don’t think Ja is fake he just apart of the new generation Youngboy spin-offs. Of course AI was more authentic, he one of the realest superstars sports ever seen but where the whole league is white washed and suburbanized I’ll rather choose Ja over the other dudes. Maybe that’s just his personality, off the court he seems like a good dude to the people who dnt cross him.

This the same city that embraced drug dealing and super GD Zach Randolph.

Well im talking about the urban culture from lil Whyte , Project Pat, Playa Fly to the Yo Gottis and Moneybaggs…that’s what we know Memphis as.

JA the last of a dying breed
.

There's nothing authentic about the gimmick he's currently portraying except the vertical.

Gimmick or not he put on for the urban demographic…even if he grew up in the burbs. Y’all can’t thinking people soft because they grew up in the hood and or they hard because they grew up on the south side of Chicago.

But y’all just hate black men who express themselves…Dejoun Murray from the hood and he still gets hate for acting the way he do.

Like they really should be a team, you would think the majority of y’all would like. For all the things most people here claim to hate about the new NBA the grizz ain’t none of that.

Homegrown team.
“Urban” black star player (which we have been missing) YSL Morant
They are not with that buddy buddy new NBA shyt.
They in a black city.
They keep the fukkery afoot and the computers puting..
They have a 90s and early 2000s like enforcer I’m Steven Adams for the guys who love 90s type ball..

The hate for the Grizz come off like y’all some old white conservatives…:hubie:
They did it to themselves. Dudes crowned themselves too early now everyone hates them.

The right way, the wrong way and the Max Power way

You have a really low and primitive opinion of black people.

Known tranny lover on the team:wrist: that thinks he’s tough or the next Rodman…

I'll say this for homeboy: If he's trying to be 2020s Rodman he's certainly got one part down cold :dame:

Not sure if "SF" is the abbreviation for the position he plays or if it's an abbreviation for his sexual fluidity :yeshrug:

I don't :hubie: Ja and Brooks can seem insufferable to an extent I guess but as an actual team when they play I don't really see any reason to hate them. They play hard, go at opponents, and are a good team. They're not as good as they think they are, but they're young. I don't necessarily actively root FOR them, but I'm not rooting AGAINST them either. Now if we're talking about the Harden Rockets that's a team I legit HATED and hoped every day that they would lose. Didn't watch a single Rockets game in like 3 or 4 years and celebrated every time they fizzled out in the playoffs :banderas:

I don't have a problem w/ these lil nikkas. I like fonk season, let these nikkas go at each other. I Just think he could a went the JR Smith route. Could a been a knucklehead but he wasn't tryna put on like he was hella hood. We just assumed that because of his image.
