Don't hate gays but I hate that some:
-equate gay rights to black civil rights
-use that annoying accent as if liking dikk changes their voices
-go overboard with the pride shyt... we get it, you're gay
-think being gay protects them and allows them to say vile things about other groups
-don't acknowledge racism among their own but piggy back on civil rights
-don't loudly condemn pedophilia
-have sex with straight people and lie/deceive and spread HIV

When I win I bring we with me
Pretty much everything I need to say has already been said below

I made a reply over in the thread How exactly is "The Black Community" so "homophobic"? that made me think of an exchange I had over on a youtube video. I was going to post it there as an example and keep it pushing ...but thought a separate thread to the exchange maybe interesting in and of itself.

Original video

Exchange:

ME
(admitted fukkery on my part here)

Ahh, "new york" no wonder you guys are in a bubble
Note to self: Don't raise kids in New York

(I'm glad anytime my people get a nice platform going for themselves but my politics are completely different from this group )
I also Disagree with homosexuality ...and I also don't think anyone should be harmed over it.

With that said this is my last time coming here ...for awhile at least
(the feminist/"gay stuff" is an overbearing echo chamber of back patting with no real dissenters present).

HER
Im fascinated that your not interested in gender or sexuality as it relates to black people. Without perspectives of the gamit of black experiences we become sterotypes or more ominously a perceived monolith without subtlety or depth. I wish well brother.

ME
(now I'm serious)
Hmmm ...I'll give it a try

1. Thank you for the well wishes, same to you.
2. I don't subscribe to the academic notion of gender nor it's inconsistent utilization in academia. (I do appreciate "gender studies" on a base level*I.E. collection of data* though anthropologist do much of the same work)
3. My "analytical framework" for society and the "black experience" is (ancestors ->youth -->adults,(wo)mens groups, their complementary to govern/propagate life --> elders -->)

From there I examine...
a. What is the state of affairs(#3 above) with a given group of people. Both (ex)internal forces at play
b. How historically has that state of affairs come to be
c. Where is the group projected to go
d. Where does the group need to go based off historical "trajectory corrections"
e. What resources are on hand + training needed to be done in order to execute those corrections
f. Train & ready resources
g. Execute corrections
h. repeat cycle

------------------------------------------
In terms of perspectives you are making my point for me. Everyone admits there are people of varying perspectives but none of those perspectives are aired at the table. It's simply one big yes man chamber concerning damn near anything that concerns feminism/gay agenda topics. If noone at the table will speak to it I will. I mean there is one thing to not be disagreeable(it's all in love) but they refuse to even disagree! Now if that's not their position hey fine. I can leave this echo chamber to people of a certain politic. That said if they also believe in this notion of "perspectives of the gamit of black experiences" then I suggest they start breaking out the skype/google+ or something cause it aint in that room.
-------------------------------------------------

Now to be fair a lot of people probably don't care either way very much, leaving those people who have a stake in their position to be outspoken on the issue. Even myself, while I disagree with feminism across the board; my "gripe with gays" is really a gripe with a political apparatus more so than any individual gay person. My gripe with the "political apparatus" is really a gripe with it's status as an arm of the "white supremacist system"(I hate that term BTW) I.E. I view HRC,Glad, and the affiliated non profit, civil, & corporate entities the same as I view the IMF, World bank, U.N., etc. "Racism / white supremacy" doesn't stop at the door step of socialist, feminist, or homosexual infrastructure and noone is there to argue these kinds of points.

HER
So homophobe or enlightened individual?

ME
Please clarify "enlightened individual"
(I'm not sure on how you are using the term ...or if your being facetious or not)

As far as "homophobe" goes...
"... I don't subscribe to the academic notion of "homophobe" nor it's inconsistent utilization in academia. ..."

HER
Enlightenment the awareness/knowledge of other, in this particular case homosexuality and its genetic component rather than lifestyle/choice. You can as an academic not empathise or like the thought of same sex acts of fornication, different strokes for different folks. Enlightenment or homophobe?

ME
Paraphrased for clarity:
Enlightenment - acknowledgement of homosexuality as a genetically induced state as opposed to a psychosocial product. This acknowledgement being independent of any axiological misalignment on the enlighteneds' part concerning particular sexual acts.

In street terms:
Do you agree with my views on genetic homosexuality?
"Enlightened Individual" = yes / "Homophobe" = No

If that is an accurate reflection of your position then i reject that light and stay in the back of Platos theoretical cave.
(oddly enough it's pretty damn bright back here also ... hmm)

HER
Enlightened homophobe? I jest, its just depressing to read so many brothers and sisters with bigotry in there hearts; justifying said emotion with the same gusto as an avowed racist, at a trump rally, waving the confederate flag. Peace and love.

ME
Enlightened homophobe? +1 for humor LOL

That said, there's no malice here. I simply have a different worldview and I duly acknowledgement others have theirs.

1. If I don't kill snakes in my village and you don't kill turtles in yours we don't start battling each other because some persons village member harmed the others respective totem while in there own village. we simply respect each others rules during visits to respective villages and do what you want while in your own village.

2. If I kick you out my church(social circle) for "playing the devils music" that doesn't mean I'm going to go start burning down juke joints. Have a ball at your juke joint, just don't bring it to my circle.

We have plenty of experience healthily dealing with difference in our history ...tap into applicable examples.

I honestly don't feel people care that much, they simply dislike the cultural imperialism of the political apparatus(HRC,Glad, and the affiliated non profit, civil, & corporate entities) Show me a point in history where African people(continent & diaspora) where making a big fuss before it was being pushed.

We tend to deal in social circles, when people irreparably break norms in a way that didn't warrant death/physical harm they are simply ostracized from the group. After that they are free to do whatever they want but without a social net. If Gays want a social net have at it, but some people refuse to be apart of it ...maybe someone else feels different. Hey, by all means rock with them ...just leave others who don't care out of it to the extent they wish to be.

HER
I respect and acknowledge your point of view, I disagree vehemently and hope at the core of my being you gp back and listen to Donovan's life as regards identity. He expressed such brutal honesty with regards his identity and his journey to self acceptance and love. Love and empathy is always the answer; how could I diminish, disrespect or in the worst instance threaten the very existamce of another human being because of who you love; I hope passionately that at some point, you come to that conclusion. Love and respect to you and yours.

ME
I enjoyed our civil dialog.

As far as his life story goes those are his personal internal demons / cross to bear. You can't expect someone else to change their world view because you personally are confused / have an identity crisis. Now you can expect and in fact demand they be civil in how they express that world view I.E. do not harm me. Our differences aside hopefully this kind of discussion in the comment section made up for the one sided dialog at the table.

Love you sister, peace

HER
Stimulating discourse with opposing view's that are strongly held, without profanity or blatant disrespect, I adore this platform and it contributors for there intellectual vigour and decorum. Peace and love to you and yours.

I don't care what yall do. Just live your life however you choose, but don't force your shyt in my direction.

This..

Gay people deserve equal protection under the law.. After that, i could care less..

And my disdain for them was heightened behind all this gender identity BS..

A guy wakes up one day and decided he wanted to be a girl..

The fck is that shyt?

No issues personally. Just because I describe certain behaviours as ''a battyman ting :scust: " doesn't mean I actually hate gay people. I do think the thought of myself engaging in any type of ass eating and such, as disgusting behaviour, so I call it a battyman ting :scust:

I don't have beef with anyone that's gay or lesbian. My only issue is with the flamboyant gays. The ones that go that extra mile to show they on that homo stuff. nikka we get it.

When I win I bring we with me
I will add this tough ...I was pretty much politically neutral on the subject. The thing that really changed the dynamic between African Americans and "gays" happened after prop 8 failed in California.
After that they started...
  1. Blaming AAs for prop 8's failure.
  2. Calling African Americans homophobic.
  3. An overly aggressive campaign to change the "hearts & minds" of AAs to be accepting of homo politics.
(This is when they started using dumb shyt tactics comparing lbgt agenda to the civil rights movement ...which really rubbed folks raw.)
It's been all down hill after that. They can "fukk off" now:yeshrug:
