It's because they like his music, he's been planted in the music industry for success since 2009. all of Wayne's fans basically swapped and listen to Drake instead. I used to be annoyed when his songs used to come on in the radio cause that's all they used to play on a regular basis. They used to play Successful, Goin In & that Bedrock joint nonstop.

Why do y'all front like you hate him, yet make multiple threads on him daily like this one?

keep a man that you hate on your mind nonstop brehs
This contributes nothing to the conversation.
He gets lots of threads made about him because he's the most popular rapper right now and a flamboyant cornball who won't release a diss response

Cause dude is just nice with it :wow:

If he’s gonna cornball it up, he’s gonna do it nicer than the next cornball.
:wow:

If he’s finna vulture some shyt, he’s bound to do it better than the next culture vulture.
:wow:

Boy has tracks on tracks, hits on hits, moments on moments.

Paved his lane and stays within it (mostly).

Has embraced and embodied this role of Canadian child actor turned mafioso rapper/R&B crooner/Pop Star and plays it up accordingly because the game will make you act in certain ways if you’re able to outwit and outlast.

Overall, bruh is sincere in his intentions. He does it all to entertain and create memories. I doubt that he wakes up plotting on how he can piss nikkas off today.

Created his own sound, rode others waves, whatever.
:yeshrug:He’s still a multi-talented cat who’s mastered the art of longevity and has carved out a solid career in show business with a good catalogue of music to show for as well, IMO.

And he wasn’t afraid to ask for help and put pen to the sheets with other nikkas.

Because, as he sees it, music is a collaborative process.

I fukked with his music hardbody before the ghostwriting shyt came to light... from the first mixtape up until that point. Once the reference tracks popped up I lost all respect for him as an artist. To me that’s some shyt you can’t come back from IMO. As an artist myself, I can’t in good faith fukk with someone who don’t pen their own shyt & portray as if they do. Call it bein stuck in the past but I still take the artform serious & believe he should’ve been exiled once the veil was pulled back on him. He’s a pop artist with some hip hop tracks though so mfs give him a pass still :yeshrug:

His music is fun to listen to:yeshrug:

I wouldn't really mind if he never made another album though as the quality declines with each release.

I like his music for the most part, but I am not invested in artists like they owe me something. With this whole Pusha ordeal, it's a good battle and Drake is currently losing..not hating it's just how I currently view it.

Man, i've said it before but Drake's music makes me uncomfortable. I've always been in this half like/half hate thing. I was onto him with Room for Improvement and of course So Far Gone and did a LOT of putting people onto him at that time. And it was always vulnerable, introspective music. From day one.

But I think there's a vast difference between vulnerable...and weak. And I think that's when the problem for me comes in. As he began to talk tough on one side of his face, and then be super passive aggressive, and fake female motivational on the other... I couldn't connect with that shyt. It felt real corny, and weak. Like you're not tough. And if you're hiding keys from women in your rhymes and crying about not being able to trust them, and name dropping this stripper here with sad bars, and you make shyt like Marvin's Room...i'm not with it.

A lot of people are just real convinced of his honesty with those moments because it speaks to their own shortcomings, vulnerabilities and weaknesses. And that's real. But for me, aside from the tremendous cash flow, and the respect I have for anyone who follows their dreams...Drake as a persona is the type of man I wouldn't wanna be. He might be an amazing dude in real life.

But sonically...I can't get with the weaker, pettier, women manipulating aspects of his shyt. And that makes it even harder when he's trying to sound cool. But I get why people like him, and bless him for all of the songs that get the party going in social environments.

I used to watch degrassi rooting for that nikka. Think he was one of the few black people on there.

After that I would loosely follow him and found out he was trying to be a rapper. Thought he was good, but couldn’t get that backing he needed(until Wayne co-signed him) but I never thought he was he best, or felt blown away from his music. Lot of his music doesn’t age well but it’s whatever now. I would casually listen to him for the past 4 years but after the story of Addidon really that black face picture(I know the reasoning behind it, but still) did it for me I can’t even listen to that I’m upset shyt anymore.

Drake is super corny and doofy but makes dope music. He the first to successfully bridge the hip hop r&b pop into 1 artist / product

The reason why strict Hip Hop dudes don't like him cause he's a pop star and has brought pop star practices into Hip Hop like never seen before...

The reason why the causal or more musically diverse Hip Hop fan likes him is because he's a pop star and brought pop star practices into Hip Hop like never seen before...

The thing about ghostwriters though...

I don't think there has ever been a top rapper that brags about being the best rapper ever use a ghostwriter...that's some new weird shyt...

Imagine Biggie having a ghostwriter or the WuTang Clan use ghostwriters or Nas using a ghostwriter...

Puffy and Dre don't even count in the rapper category and they were pretty open with it...

What Drake did is sacrilegious to being an elite rapper

Breh, it's well documented Biggie had ghostwriters and also ghostwrote.
