Why do you think Sean Payton is generally viewed as a better HC than Mike McCarthy?

Because he looks grittier. White America LOVE white men that look gritty. It makes it seem like they’re tough patriots.

Sean Payton when he has it going and has his QB is a deadly play caller.

He knows when and where to call shyt to rip the defense's heart out

McCarthy is not bad as a play caller either but Payton is better.

When he outthinks himself and gets on that "cute" shyt that loses yards, fukks up drives, and leaves the team settling for a Field Goal or Punt, tho :snoop:

Like the Jet Sweep, slow-developing Double End Around, or TE Screen to a "Random #" :jordanfacepalm:

Drew Brees liked Sean Payton

Aaron Rogers disliked Mike McCarthy
Considering what we know about Aaron Rodgers and how McCarthy was ranked in the recent nfl survey I think it’s safe to say Rodgers was the issue and not McCarthy because it doesn’t seem like he got along with Lafleur either.

“As the saying goes, if you ran into an a$$hole in the morning you ran into an a$$hole. If you run into a$$holes all day you’re the a$$hole.”

I’m sure he isn’t the easiest guy to get along with, but if he disliked Lafleur, I can see why given their 3 playoff exits all resembled your classic Mike McCarthy postseason exits too.

2019: Total no show by the defense. The niners call just 8 passing plays all game but control the ball for 37-38 minutes while running for 285 yards. They scored on all but I think 2 possessions.

2020: Lot of things happen outside of Rodgers’ control. The Aaron jones fumble, the defense giving up the first half Hail Mary, the bad pass protection, the obvious missed defensive PI by Tampa on their pick, and of course Lafleur taking the ball out of Rodgers hands down 1 possession with the game on the line only to never get the ball back.

2021: The worst special teams unit in the league gives up a blocked punt return touchdown in the 4th quarter which swings the momentum to the niners and the defense gives up a walk off scoring drive yet again.

I can’t say I’d blame the guy if he was fed up over the fact that he had to be flawless in every playoff game with Green Bay for them to even have a chance.

Making a lot of excuses for Rodgers losing those playoff games that most other QBs wouldn’t get

Making a lot of excuses for Rodgers losing those playoff games that most other QBs wouldn’t get
I provide proper context :manny:. The only quarterbacks I’ve seen ever who are even in the same galaxy as Rodgers when it comes to their defense or running game consistently no-showing a playoff loss are Peyton, Brees, and Marino. Hard to blame him when the defense shows up so little. There’s 5 playoff exits where the defense gave up at least 37 points (3 of which saw the defense give up 43+), 2 more where the defense gave up 28 (1 of which saw the coach take the ball out of his hands with the game on the line), and 4 playoff losses where the defense gave up a walk off score to lose the game (1 of which was the other game where the defense allowed 28 or more and the other 3 being games where he led the game tying drive with the game on the line the last time he had the ball).

The closest thing we have to a playoff loss where you can attempt to make a credible argument that he could’ve done more was 2021 vs the niners and even in that game he didn’t turn the ball over while throwing for 250+ yards and as I’ve mentioned, the special teams unit gave up a touchdown in the 4th quarter and the defense folded with the game on the line. I can point to playoff losses where Peyton, Brees, Brady, Elway, Favre, or Ben to name a few were bad. I can’t really find the same for Rodgers :manny:

You need to be both good and lucky to win in the playoffs, and Rodgers never seemed to catch the lucky breaks needed along with 2010 being really the only year where his defense held up in the big moments.

Only on the Coli and Twitter, could you even have this conversation.

One coach has taking over the most difficult situations, a coach could have. The other walked into already winning situations.

We ain't even gotta talk about Katrina and N.O's perennial losing culture, that Payton walked into.

What he's done in Denver is wild too. Bottom feeder program (long playoff drought) lacking premium draft capital, with the worse dead cap situation in league history. In a conference with the Alpha dog of the league, and 3 other high level coaches. Dude walked in an overcame all of it, and did it instantly.

Imagine thinking McCarthy could do anything like that. Can he even get a job?
