It’s very sociopathic. They don’t want us to feel good, and do well in life, but get nervous when we’re not smiling, and put us down when we fail.
Then when we not only surpass their low expectations, but do better than them, they get mad, and come up with all kinds of excuses that we’re the the result of affirmative action, or some natural talent. They never want to believe that we took the time to work hard, and master our craft.
If they can’t feel like they are better than us, it makes them realize how mediocre they are. That’s why they get mad when we say white privilege. It’s not that they all had things handed to them, but they didn’t have to go through all the extra stress of racism.
One of the most egregious things they started doing in the past 6 years or so is calling us racist for talking about race, as if we’re not aware of the way they talk about us when we’re not in the room. They exposed themselves on social media when social media became popular. Thinking blackface is funny, calling us all kinds of slurs, etc. That has been standard procedure for them, and now that we see it first hand, they think our negative reaction is racist, because they know those things are just part of their everyday white lives.
Most of us have had white friends at some point, and we know how they are. Most of them are not interacting with black people on a close personal basis. I can’t tell you how many times a white person has been shocked that I use proper grammar. They really want to believe we’re all idiots.
