This caveat doesn't excuse Bortles' performance. He was sacked a ridiculous 55 times because he holds onto the ball too long. Bortles walked into sacks last year. Moreover he routinely threw errant balls which turned into picks. Bridgewater had a rookie RB and one of the league's worst LTs, and yet he had a good season. Taking into consideration Bortles' poor Adjusted Yards per attempt, absurdly high sack rate and elevated interception total, the dude's basement is Blaine Gabbert level. He's a bust

I don't disagree that New York is a bigger media market and therefore more negativity comes NY QB's way. This doesn't excuse the fact that Bortles sucks and people are making wrongheaded reasons for why he sucks. The fact Jacksonville is a smaller market is just another excuse. Nobody in the media that reports on the Jag's or the NFL in general is saying Bortles' sucks -- and yet he does!

Nobody in the national media reports on Geno either. The only Geno story that made national news this year was when he missed a meeting because he didnt know there was a time difference and Rex still let him start.
