Ok, this is actually decent. i don't know why y'all ozzies don't try promote them Aborigine rappers more. That's pretty much all anyone outside of Australia is interested in hearing and if you ask me, they are really the only ones making anything worthwhile down there.

I spent some time down there and I'm semi familiar with australian hip hop and mostly what gets promoted is a bunch of white boys either on some hippy shyt or tryna act tough and most of it is just awful. but them Aborigines seem to really embrace hip hop, not on some breakdancing and graffitti shyt, but they really seem to relate to the history alot more, but yall dont promote em and i just dont understand why

if y'all want to legitimize hip hop in Australia on the world stage, y'all need some Aborigines at the front, cause we got our own white boys, why would we want to hear yours. But like I said I spent some time down there and I kinda get why y'all don't promote Aborigine rappers, its cause most ozzies don't really seem to like Aborigines, like y'all are really behind the times when it comes to race relations.

i completely agree, most of the popular Aussie Hip Hop like 360, Pez and other stupid hippy shyt but in the last few years we have seen more Aboriginal MC's come along and get signed to labels like Golden Era which is probably the best known Hip Hop label besides Obese. i personally know quite a few Aboriginal MC's and they are dope as fukk but not signed yet. cats like Briggs, Jimblah, Brotha Black & Last Kinection are finally seeing some light. most of the aboriginal bands from the communities don't do Hip Hop tho, they play Reggae and that's where most of the media focuses their attention on black music in Australia, they're stuck in the 80s & 90's thinking of bands like Yothu Yindi and Pop/RnB singers like Jessica Mauboy

I'm not sure about the reggae shyt, most of the Aborigine kids I met over there was big on hip hop. Some of em were dope spitters too and some where kinda average but had really interesting perspectives. Funny you mentioned Golden Era because i remember someone showed me their stuff and it was really awful aswell and that Briggs dude was kinda wack too. Its weird cause they showed me a couple of the Aborigine MCs who actually do get promoted and they sounded pretty bad too, But I did hear some great indy Aborigine hip hop which really blew me away. The shyt made no sense at all. It's like y'all's preference is for some weird off beat bland shyt over stuff that actually sounds good

The whole scene is still very underground besides a few cats like Hilltops and 360. Any other popular acts aren't around for log and are usually wack rappers with fake American accents. The aborigines in the outback communities play a lot of reggae type music, but in te last 10 years or so there have been more hip hop workshops out there so the kids that do spit can actually get beats and get help with writing rhymes and things like that. Kids out there can barely speak English sometimes because they still speak their own language a lot. I know quite a few aboriginal MCs from the NT and for the most part they are dope but it's only in the last 5-10 years that the scene has really picked up as far as actual recordings and albums/mixtapes being released. My crew were and still are a big part of that movement. I have never lived in one of the big southern cities so I don't know too much about the scenes down there but it's pretty much the same all over. Hip hop here is like the early 90s in US, as far as exposure and mainstream success with the general population.

I've heard some decent shyt from out there but majority of the time those accents are:scusthov:.

makes it very hard to listen cuz those accents ruin some dope beats.
