the south produces A LOT of athletes, thats undeniable..but thats 16 states..cali alone produces almost as many, if not more super athletes. what makes cali such a hotspot for superior genetics? athletes from cali run the gamut of sports too: football, basketball, baseball, tennis, boxing, ufc. a ton of olympic athletes were either born or trained in cali..

Gee, I don't know....let's look at a map. Off the top of my head, there's only 3 states on the ENTIRE west coast and Cali takes up 95% of that real estate. Now how many are on the east coast?

California is all things desert, greenery, mountainous, aquatic, etc. Thus there's a variety of weather/settings for all sports of athletes to train in.

It's not like it's just one big homogeneous state. It might as well be several different states.
