what?

The character models on X-men looked just like the comics, and it was very colorful\
what the voice acting on X-men was CRACK, Apocalyspe, Xaiver, Magneto, Wolverine, Rogue, shyt everybody had good voices
Storm when the list goes on and on you tripping, Gambit alone proves you wron

Spider-Man had the wittiest one liners and was actually more likable and entertaining with his dialogue than any of the movies that have came out
that show as well written

Superman was basically Batman with different color scheme and no mask
barely no detail, buildings looked like boxes
Using the 90's comics as models only meant the characters were drawn in the costumes of that time but the drawings themselves were not that great. And the voice acting was dreadful. Nothing but overly melodramatic one readings and characters shouting one another's names as emotionally as possible (how many times did Wolverine and Cyclops yell "Jean!" per episode? 100 times?) and don't even get me started on the shytty accents.

Batman at all points was best...and I DARE YOU to watch spiderman again...total POS

Spider-Man really aged poorly ... they used to recycle a LOT of sequences in that show. If you go back and watch it, the actions sequences can be very disjointed.

Still enjoyable for what it was, but Superman was better overall. I can go back and watch any show from the DCAU and not wonder why I enjoy it.

In a nutshell, the DCAU.

DC was doing in the 90s the same thing Marvel is doing with their movies nowadays. They build up the story and use the same voice actors to carry the product from Batman and Superman into the Justice League, YJ, and sometimes the animated straight-to-DVD movies, although the selling power of the Justice League cartoon did help people get into those movies where the animation or voices were different. Also, the writing was geared more towards a kid/adult audience in the DCAU than the Marvel ones IMO.

They invested more into the continuity and relied more on the nostalgia to sell, rather than Marvel, where crossovers were few and far between. Look at the Batman:Arkham series, when they were using TAS voices, lots of people were like

just on that alone, like they were watching an episode of the cartoon.

Yep, Specacular Spider-Man had the potential to be the GOAT Marvel cartoon but it only got 2 seasons due to licensing issues with Sony and Disney. I still watch to this day, TAS not so much unless it's the opening theme :russ:

superman was an underrated cartoon

This is true. As much as I love the Christopher Reeve Superman movies (1 and 2 only, :pacspit::pacspit: for 3 and 4), one thing that bugged me was making Clark Kent this awkward, nerdy dude. In this series, he was a kinda brolic everyman with a little bit of charisma, n they didn't try too hard to make his character stand out from his Superman persona. Also, all the fights were on some serious ish, even though Superman sometimes had the awareness of a pile of bricks.

I enjoyed X-men myself, but some of those voices were:skip:.

Yall cats underrate the Superman cartoon, it was very solid.

That being said. DC treated the animated shows a cinematic standpoint for the most part. They hire top notch animators, experienced voice actors and the original comic writers. Their eye for quality is precise.

Marvel has been hit or miss, but they severely tone down their material for young kids and it hurts the product. They focus on flashy colors and kid appeal and it waters down the product. Though to be fair, Marvel's attempts at being mature have ended in mixed results at best. That MTV Spiderman show was good, but no one watched it.

Nah..Apocalypse and Magneto had great voice actors.

Superman cartoon was decent...doesnt have anywhere near as classic episodes as X Men or Batman. JLU was just a continuation of Batman's formula.

Cause marvel held it down in my youth with
Fantastic Four (with herbie)
Spiderman (60's)
The Amazing Spiderman
Spiderman and his Amazing friends
The Incredible Hulk (80's)
Plus all those marvel vhs animated cartoons that always had bonus spiderman episodes

So no matter what is out now don't matter, Marvel raised me in the early 80's when I was like 3

Let me know when DC finally breaks into the Thanksgiving Parade game too, Spiderman been holding that shyt down for decades
