Why does Destiny get hate for the same thing Halo is praised for?

Disclaimer: I'm not saying the games are equal. I'm not shytting on Halo I'm just talking about the general concept of both games.

The Halo series is all about sandbox gameplay, basically the experience of playing through sci fi shooter.. And it was praised for this, the gameplay mechanics and its MP elevated it to be one of the best of its gen.

Destiny is basically the same concept, but instead of focusing on presentation, it goes for an intense co-op friendly game with beautiful art, beautiful music and amazing moment to moment gameplay . There's no question that the polish of this game is far beyond any game before it.

Some of the same criticisms can be aimed at both. Repetitive gameplay, not much explorations/puzzles. Limited weapon choices and combat options, etc but in Destiny's case there's a HUGE variety of weapons and then there's classes, sub classes and whatnot. There are valid complaints for Destiny but some of those seem like they're inflated and emphasized while the good is downplayed or whatnot. I think the blame is partly due to the hype Activision set out with the big marketing.

Why does Destiny not get at least some of the love that Halo gets?

Why are people still holding onto Halo when the gawds at Bungie have moved into the masterpiece known as Destiny.

Where's Cortana? I can't play a MMO FPS game with a non existent story.

*Is Gen 4 in Titanfall*
*Pre-orders Evolve*
*:umad: "Titanfall best gaem evar" *
*Uploads clips of BF4 MP to Xboxclips.com*

Yea where's Cortana though??

I think Destiny compares more to Resident Evil 5. RE5 was a blast to play co-op but playing it solo not so much. Halo isn't dependent of co-op has iconic characters like Cortana and Chief that people latched onto. I don't know who any of the characters are in Destiny really and the way the game presents its story I don't really care so far.

I'm only level 6 so you're farther along then me. Does Destiny get better characters in the campaign?

uhhh...halo isn't a sandbox game smh
cmon breh, don't act dumb

he knows it's not a sandbox game

he's saying sandbox style gameplay, which is true

he just means wide open levels for firefights with multiple points of attack, lines of site, and verticality, weapon choices, vast spawns of enemies. The gameplay is just like Halo in this way. Decide how to get through a huge open area your way

same way Crysis 3 had 'sandbox' gameplay

basically here's a huge level with many different ways through, be creative to get there

I agree with you whole heartedly

No one cared that Halo's story was the same non sensical space magic shyt, but people love it enough to read books about the fiction. The coolest part about Halo was the idea of the Halo itself. Bet lets not pretend this isn't the same type of shyt. (the conspirator, the traveler, the darkness the librarian, etc, etc,)

Every game it's "I don't care about story just gimme stellar gameplay.
' Destiny has a decent story and stellar gameplay, but now it all switches :usure:

I don't even think the story is all that good. Just not a game breaker AT ALL.

Halo isn't criticized for lack of exploration. You can explore plenty in Halo. That said, don't compare Destiny to Halo.

Halo was innovative for its time. It did things that hadn't been done and did things that had already been done, far better than its predecessors.
I bought and modded an xbox just to play Halo after playing it once at a friend's house. Its a recognizable classic.
Things like full co-op fps campaign modes were not prevailent at the time. 16 player lan connectivity via system link... alternate cinematics based on difficulty.... these are things that weren't even thought of until Halo came along.

Destiny brings nothing new, does nothing new, adds nothing new, is more expensive and less impressive.

You need to be comparing it with other mediocre releases like Titanfall and not universally regarded 9/10 classics and system-sellers like Halo.

Halo wasn't doing anything that FPS's on PC hadn't been doing for YEARS. Stop that cyse.

If you wanna say for console gaming, that is one thing, but stop giving credit for shyt that is a clearly a cyse. :stopitslime:
