and where in the song does drake even hint to starting in an area of poverty

The only ones who projected that idea are the quick to jump no context seeing idiot fans that dont know how to analyze a song in context

Typical of a smartdumb nas stan :sas2:

istarted from the bottom is simply a celebratory song about starting from being a nobody in the rap game to the top(now we here)

Simple
:heh:
just as expected.
'the bottom' drake was talking about is {insert some made up shyt}
:camby:
let me quickly google the lyrics for this song....
nikka talking about living in his mom's house (arguing)
and driving his uncle's car - say what you want, that is clearly him trying to portray ' the struggle'
and :ufdup:for bringing nas name into shyt that has nothing to do with him
:scust:your obsession with the man is disgusting!!

nikka he's telling how he started his career in the rap game

He started living in his momma crib

he couldnt even drive a whip of his own now it transitions to him being at the top of the game and the irony that now he stays on the road getting half a mil for a show

He painting contrasts of the life he used to have against the life he has now to portray his journy from being a nobody to being THE GUY in the rap game today

And aint no obsession, I just know that ur a nas stan so it explains ur lack of analyzing skills to speak on this song correctly

I thought people were over this already? It's been done to death

Yes Aubrey Graham is a corny, effeminate, fraudulent mf...But when you get passed the cringe worthy blaccent the boy makes some dope rap music :manny:

It is funny though how he gets lauded by fans & the media for being so 'real' when he's embellished his story & put on a front exactly like the same rappers he's put up on pedestal for being realer than :comeon:.

look at this fool over-analyzing simple shyt
drake CLEARLY tried to portray 'his struggle'(started from the bottom) with the first half of that verse.
that is the 'exaggerated truth' op was calling him out for.
and the making half a mill line is the(now we here)/we made it part.
nikkas in here over-analyzing shyt to make it fit!!!

but like i mentioned in my first post, you drake stans would come in here and move the goal post as far as what 'the bottom' means. so do you!!
and ,yes, i'm a nas fan and still have good analyzing skills!!
:ohhh:imagine that!!!

Tell me how I'm lying though?
Do you nikkas understand English? If so..
1. Listen to the song.

2. Instead of acting like some 14 year old girls quoting 3 words out of the hook, listen to the damn bars. Dudes must've failed the critical reading SAT tests on some other shyt :whew:.
Same nikkas probably saying that Jay-z is pledging allegiance to satan and promoting satanic ideas on D'evils.

3. Why the hell do you dudes think the bottom is a word for being broke? A bottom can mean any number of things, from being deep in drugs, manic depression, hierarchical ladder in corporations (hence the term bottom of the totem pole) and the list goes on. Also, broke is relative, nikkas in the US ain't in the bottom with respect to socioeconomic health compared to people in Somalia.

yes exactly..but now we here is referring to his rap career

The setting he laid out in the first half was him being stuck in his momma's basement having to ask for his uncles permission to go on the road

then he transitions into "i just think its funny how it goes now im on the road half a milli for the show"

Thats the contrast

Nowhere in the verse is he even remotely saying hie's in poverty

He's simply telling us where he came from and then tells us how it looks like on the top he has reached and thats it

How am I overanalyzing ur the one overanalyzing to think "started from the bottom" was a reference to poverty

Yes, thats why he shows his white mom and her suburb home in the video, kids playing soccer, him working at super market, talking about rinding his uncles Lexus and stuff..
He could talk about how his mother was ill and his family was living of his acting checks, how he lived in Memphis during the summer and his father got locked up and shyt like that IF he was trying to talk about "poverty". I don't know why he would neglect to mention those things if that was what the song is about. He could also lie like most of your favorite rappers and exaggerate.
