If you're over a certain age, you remember when it was used interchangeably with "chief."

That's one of the reasons why Hustle Man character was so funny.

Anywhere in North Africa, Middle East, with East Asians and wherever Arab/Muslim people are…you’ll hear people call you and you’ll use the word bossman a lot.

In UK mostly at chicken and chip/kebab/corner shops
