Then be happy with your opinion...
I remember when NYC had a ATCQ, Wu Tang, Mobb Deep, Bad Boy Camp, Boot Camp, and Premo, Pete Rock, The Beatnuts, Easy Moe B and whole bunch of other rappers and beatmakers making noise...
I am talking from that perspective, if you honestly believe that NYC is still that fertile when it comes to hip hop production, then be happy in your delusional blissful state of ignorance...
Even NYC rappers themselves realize that the environment has changed, and NYC hip hop is just not as GLORIOUS as it used to be...
Why did Nas make Hip Hop is dead? Because that NYC feeling died, because hip hop was still commercially viable when Nas made that album, so why would he make that statement?
That's why people like it,it's repetitive,it requires little to no thought..easy to nod their head too and scream motherfukkers never loved us.
you say all this while hip hop in general is barely breathing. y'all, whomever y'all are, are fumbling the rock. hip hop ain't bout shyt right now.
shut the fukk up, i hate arguing with idiots

unbiased truthI think other cities have had/are having their time, and that's fine.
But, in order to really say NYC is no longer relevant and have a case, it might be wise to have a city on deck that has produced near the number of classics new york has.
Even if you look at it like "new york" vs. the world, I still think more hip-hop classics have come out of new york than all other cities combined.
Again, I'm not some huge NYC proponent -- I've never even been there.
But, in the decades I've been listening to this music (admittedly, I listen to less now, because it's gotten worse over the years), no city (or combination of cities) has put out the classics/influential records that new york has.
Is that changing? Maybe. Eventually, the sum of classics from everywhere else will probably eclipse those from new york. Until then, I don't even think the discussion of whether or not NYC is relevant can even be legitimate.
nikka get trill, he even said it himself all the time. he alsways says his favorite rappers are southern and he says trill. the nikka is damnyell southern

he also has said some of his favorite artists are Bone Thugs (not the south) and Dipset (also not the south).. just cause your music is southern influenced at times dont make you a southern artist lol does a chicago artist makin music and rapping like he coulda came out of NY not make him a chicago artist?
so cause you say trill that means the south gets to claim you? they are NY and upper east coast artists, period.. you heard live.love and a few singles and claimed them as southern artists..didn't listen to nothing else, clearly. long live aint even sound like southern rap, and neither does trap lord..who cares if the name of the album is southern influenced, the music is bone thugs influenced.. lol you continuously show how stupid you are with this shyt even after you got called out and clowned for claiming southern hip hop started the camo trend in hip hop when it was NY![]()
did poitier errr i mean kemet rocky really say that

Word. Nikkaz lIt's wrong to have pride in where I'm from? Mind you, I'm never screaming that "I'm from
NY and hip hop starts and ends w us" shyt EVER. I got respect for all regions who contribute to the culture and make dope music. All I'm doin is stepping in and defending NY when ppl who aren't from here try to shyt on us and make blanket assumptions about us being "arrogant" when they probably never been here and have no idea what they're talking about. I don't think I'm better than anybody at all. In fact I find it pretty ironic that ppl r callin NYers pompous and arrogant when that's exactly how some of the posters from the south/west/Midwest in this thread are doing .
That's my point. It doesn't matter where I'm from. You nikkas act like you had some hand in making NY or NY rap music great because you happen to be from that city. Here's a newsflash for you nikkas who think like this: NY only became NY because people from various parts of the US came there and due to the money and opportunity available, they were able to do what they couldn't do at the time from wherever they were from. So it's not NY that's dope, it's people from various places that got on in NY that made it dope. I grew up on NY hip-hop, but nikkas are clown if they think shyt begins and ends with NY. It's sickening how much pride y'all have.
you would rep for your city if it were you so shut the fukk up

Your city probably wack bruh. You know Nikkaz gone start talking shytI thin it's a very accurate generalization, but obviously it can't include everyone from NY. But if you think other regions can/do make good music, then that I can agree on. But again, it's not that people look up to NY so much as it's easier to get an opportunity in NY. Big difference...
Why? So he can tell me where I'm from ain't shyt and say I can't say anything bad about NYC? I've been to NYC before and I didn't like it. Everybody doesn' worship that city. Sorry...

chickens come home to roost
i aint a NY hater at all. I probably support more NY artists than alot of yall NY cats. But Im sure people have stated before that NY had a history of shyttin on other regions and NY has had a reputation for that elitist attitude. Now the tables have turned
Cause your city wack you can't take pride in itMy pride doesn't doesn't lie in some shyt that I had NOTHING to do with. Lame NY motherfukkers like yourself are the type to do that. Tell me, how long y'all gonna ride that 'mecca of Hip-Hop' shyt out? If NY doesn't drop another good album in the next 20 years, are y'all still going to be saying the same thing?
