The Blueprint dropped in 20013 doe breh..
Okay and? Lil Jon was still that nikka.
Nah only thing NY hated on was Wack Cali/south rappers. Nobody was mad at pharcyde, nobody was mad at scarface, we know Outkast is the truth, we know TI gets busy, etc. What's wrong with having standards ? And for the record, the west was dressing corny back in the day rockin Jheri curls gimme a break lol...the south too  w ur crusty asses :heh: just cause u got some semblance of "swag" literally in the last decade don't act like ur hot shyt now
But new Yorkers dress like Cali and down south nikkas. New York ain't got no swag. T Biggest Movement NY had in a while was based on Cali swag. You know the Dipshyts who they they Cali Bloods

What block I own??? Umm, none? I'm from Rockaway, Queens where u from breh

That's my point. It doesn't matter where I'm from. You nikkas act like you had some hand in making NY or NY rap music great because you happen to be from that city. Here's a newsflash for you nikkas who think like this: NY only became NY because people from various parts of the US came there and due to the money and opportunity available, they were able to do what they couldn't do at the time from wherever they were from. So it's not NY that's dope, it's people from various places that got on in NY that made it dope. I grew up on NY hip-hop, but nikkas are clown if they think shyt begins and ends with NY. It's sickening how much pride y'all have.

It's wrong to have pride in where I'm from? Mind you, I'm never screaming that "I'm from
NY and hip hop starts and ends w us" shyt EVER. I got respect for all regions who contribute to the culture and make dope music. All I'm doin is stepping in and defending NY when ppl who aren't from here try to shyt on us and make blanket assumptions about us being "arrogant" when they probably never been here and have no idea what they're talking about. I don't think I'm better than anybody at all. In fact I find it pretty ironic that ppl r callin NYers pompous and arrogant when that's exactly how some of the posters from the south/west/Midwest in this thread are doing .

Nah, it's not wrong to have pride in where you're from, but how can you ignore the fact MANY (I would say most) NY cats act like anything outside of NY is shyt? This isn't a new concept. It's been like this. I'm sure you remember the movie Life right? When Eddie and Martin was about to go into the town in the South, they were on that whole 'I'm from NYC' schtick and it ended up with them being broke and tossed into prison because they though they were too smart for their own good. It really goes back to times of slavery and Blacks in the North being more educated at the time (due to them being free) and thinking they were somehow above the same people who didn't have the opportunities they had. No one can deny NY's significance to Hip-Hop/Rap, but no one 'hates' on NY. If anything, cats from NY love the attention and WANT people to be haters because they know they are no longer in the spotlight. It's kind of like the 'middle child syndrome.'

We want people to hate on us? Every other day there's an unprompted anti NYC thread. Wtf are you talking about?

U got good points but I dono I can only speak for myself on this, but I think to say "most NYers" act a certain way towards the south, Midwest , whatever is a bit of an unfair generalization. Maybe it's bc I've spent time down south/Cali and have had interactions w hip hop fans there my perception is different. I always had an open mind and appreciated good music. At the end of the day, if your shyt is hot, it's hot. Region really doesn't make a difference. There's wack rappers down south and lord knows there's wack rappers out here. What I do have a problem w is people blindly hating on a city they probably never been to/know nothing about bc it's become the "cool thing to do". Meanwhile, where's one of the first places people from
Smaller towns/cities wanna move to advance their career, experience city life, or get out of college? NY.

If everyday there's an 'unprompted anti NYC' thread, then everyday there is a thread like this inviting the so-called 'hate'. I remember back 6-7 years ago when even though the South was in control, NY people whether through blogs, messageboards, or actual rappers themselves (e.g. Hip-Hop Is Dead) was constantly hating on the South, mainly during the whole snap music bullshyt. This is what prompted UGK to release songs like Hatin Da South. Any 'hate' NY gets is well deserved because you did it to the West, and then you did it to the South. Notice the South and the West get along throughout all the bullshyt. It's only East Coast cats who have a problem.
