Its a classic yeah.....but I don't feel it like it that. Machine gun funk always seemed like the more genuine track, like dude just got off the stoop and in the studio to spit this.

:banderas:

very rare description breh, but Ten Crack Commandments is like the evolution of that same nikka on the stoop, who done seen/lived through some shyt in his hood and was just reaching OG status

it would be similar to when Cologero got older in a Bronx Tale, you liked him as a kid but as he grew up you got to see how he applied all the gems he took in into his everyday life

Nah, it's not wrong to have pride in where you're from, but how can you ignore the fact MANY (I would say most) NY cats act like anything outside of NY is shyt? This isn't a new concept. It's been like this. I'm sure you remember the movie Life right? When Eddie and Martin was about to go into the town in the South, they were on that whole 'I'm from NYC' schtick and it ended up with them being broke and tossed into prison because they though they were too smart for their own good. It really goes back to times of slavery and Blacks in the North being more educated at the time (due to them being free) and thinking they were somehow above the same people who didn't have the opportunities they had. No one can deny NY's significance to Hip-Hop/Rap, but no one 'hates' on NY. If anything, cats from NY love the attention and WANT people to be haters because they know they are no longer in the spotlight. It's kind of like the 'middle child syndrome.'
But what city is on the level of NYC in the USA?... sure as hell not Lost angeles

I actually talk to a lot of people about this and they all would love to pick up and move down south.

For every 1 person trying to move down south, there are 5 people trying to make it to NYC. There's a reason why rents are increasing and it's not inflation it's demand. So ya you know a few people who want to flee NY, but keep in mind the #1 reason people leave is because they can't afford to live how they want

Nope. Foreign money is inflating the NYC rent, not domestic money. The Bible belt is the fastest growing region in America.

Ok, throw out everything else, and they are moving there because it's cheap. They are cheapskates.
