I'm kind of suspicious about white people in the media all of a sudden hyping up the looks of an African woman when they're reluctant to hype up the looks of other actresses like Meagan Good and Gabrielle Union.

I don't know about white media, but to me, the two women you named are "Girl Next Door" beautiful/pretty. I would never say they are unattractive, but they don't "wow" me because I see beautiful women often. They are "boring pretty", if that makes sense. Lupita isn't just beautiful to me, she's also striking. Something about her makes you WANT to keep looking at her. She seems like a doll in all of her interviews too; it's really the whole package.

This is just my opinion (obviously LOL); others may find Meagan and Gabrielle striking.

True. But 99% of the time, Hollywood would never give a woman who looks like her the spotlight. Why now? And let's not fool ourselves into thinking that Hollywood is expanding their definitions of beauty standards. There's something else going on here.

No it's not, what you said in your original post was spot on. Megan Good is better looking than Lupita, I would even say Meagan Good is better looking than 99% of actresses in Hollywood. Those cheekbones are unreal, the eyes, the lips etc. Why exactly all this hype about Lupita when there have been gorgeous black actresses FOREVER?

Garcelle Beauvais might literally be the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, where exactly is all the hype for HER?
