They formed at the back end of their primes. If they came together all 30 and under like the heat they coulda had a dynasty.

They flat out choked in the 4th of game 7 against LA. They had no one they could go to the in the 4th and it was hard to watch

i actually think doc made a mistake not playing nate robinson. he had been a great spark for them in that series up until then, confident and fearless as always, but doc just thought he should ride the starters out i guess.

but ultimately they lost because of rebounds, with perkins out they got killed on the offensive glass and thats the only reason the lakers were able to stay within striking distance to make a run. celtics were on the verge of blowing them out in the 3rd

Celtics didn't choke against the Lakers

They weren't even the favorites going into that series.

even though they were the underdogs, they did choke game 3 at home after stealing game 2 in LA. Fish Gawwd gutted them in the 4th quarter.

They also blew game 7 being up 13 in the second half, but they get a semi pass since perkins got hurt.

Big 3 of Boston one of hte most overhyped teams ALL TIME. Dudes one 1 title against a laker team which had 2 starters out injured and needed refs to gie leon powe 17 fts in a game. They act like this team has won multiple titles together and forget these players were good players on bum squads until they joined forces. Still no reason for knickebocker fans to talk tho

to be fair they faced bad luck on their road to rings

09 - KG get's hurt on a LOB from Rondo. 95% chance of a repeat

10 - Perkins get's hurt in the second quarter of game 6. 75% chance of 3 peat

11 - Rondo breaks arm against cheat

12 - Ray Allen played through playoffs with painfull bone spurs and they were beaten and tired at the end.

Theres some partial truth to this, no diss for Boston fans here. In recent days, ESPN been talking up about that heart of a champion stuff in terms of coming back from 0-3 and Im like They havent won the title in 5 years and the majority of that team is gone. Meanwhile when the Pistons used to make its 5 Conference finals and won one title I remember some media types (Simmons, Barkley) used to get on them for acting like they won more than one title and some downplayed it as a fluke or made them like the doormat to the Bron/Wade eras. Im like at leas they consistently made conference finals. Boston rolls deep but not like that.:manny:

The injuries they had in recent playoff runs has probably helped to give them a pass, but its like how many times people say its the end of this era and then the next year say the champion comes back. Like it is what it is, they no different than other vet teams who hang around

Nobody argued that. But go ahead and deny/argue the point I made in my post if you can. You cant deny that Garnett,

  • While with Minnesota, would always defer to others in the 4th quarter because he was afraid to take shots in close games. That mofo was happy to let Wallie Szczerbiak take the final shot in the 4th quarter. Wally freakin Szczerbiak.
  • Came to Boston and was singing his ass off proclaiming Paul Pierce as SuperMan his savior at every post game conference.

It's one thing for Lebron to let D-Wade, or even Bosh or Allen take the final Shot. But WALLY freakin Szczerbiak??? Really?
kg went from underated to overated as fuccck. he was NEVER a go to guy but he mightve got shyttted on a little too much in minny but soon as he came to boston cac capital of the country, hes a god. The comparison to Tim Duncan was always laughable. Dirk>KG

Plus the Celtics had a great record in 08(9-2)and 09(18-7)without KG and were a game away from the conference finals without him. KG has always been massively overrated

The fact that they won a title in their first year together when most thought it would probably take two years has something to do with the fact. And with their starting five of Rondo Allen Perkins Garnett and Pierce they never lost on the court. In 09 it was Garnett injured and and in 2010 it was Perkins right before game 7. shyt even Rondo got hurt in 2011. I know injuries are a part of the game but without them these guys would have won two maybe three titles.

A breh could always dream cant he? :guilty:

I mean come on. With Zo, PJ Brown, Juwan Howard, Dan Majerle and Tim Hardaway we could have given anyone a run for their money. Mind you this was in 97 so we would have had that line up in 98 on up. MJ and the Bulls got Kraused in 98. The East was good for the taking. How do you think Knicks and Sixers got to the finals? :hmm:

His game was comparable to that of Duncan except he avoided contact at times but he was not underrated while in Minny. I would never pick him over Duncan but that doesnt mean he wasnt a beast in his own right. He got his props there but there was also criticism for his late game disappearing acts on the offensive end.

But then comes the trade to Boston and all the sudden KG is a "tough" and "enforcer" all the sudden like :wtf:
