Why does good hip-hop not get more exposure?

because only negative hip hop promotes an unobtainable lifestyle to poor kids and inspires them to do what their favorite rappers rap about doing so that they too can live the same lifestyle that they see their favorite rappers living in videos/instagram. good/positive hip hop isn't promoting violence, drug dealing, and the objectification of women in the black community, fukk that shyt, whitey aint shoving that weak bullshyt down ya black ass throat.

Yes they have bars for days and their music is "meaningful" but the shyt doesnt MOVE people (In a literal sense)....

Theres only certain times when i can play a lupe/immortal tech...
...It's just fact... most people don't listen to msuic for the lyrics...they listen for sonics...and the lyrics are just the cherry on top...
Drake and other "not REAL hip hop" makes people
...In the end i respect all artist and i love a Lupe type...but i'm not always in the mood for THEIR music.
The whole "negativity sells" is complete BS...Rage against the Machine had meaningful lyrics but ppl only liked them cause of their MUSIC...Kayne had meaningful msuic and he made it...hell he still makes meaningful shyt just of a different topic...The world ain't always out to get ya...things may be more simple than we try to make them to be.

Back in the 90s, club hits were actually lyrical and people rapped from bar to bar. People got too conditioned to screaming hooks and adlibs on 808s beats.

Nah, people go hard against some artists who have a message in good music. It's like being negative and ignorant is the norm and something "to wind down after a hard day of work"
