I don't understand the hit. Why are the numbers all all of a sudden on the viewing, yet similar as normal on the active members?

i think that the current active users represents the number of people who have
visited the board within a certain amount of time, like 6-12 hrs from the presents.

you could have 1000 people view the board within 12 hours, so that is what is
reflected. however you could have only 300 people view the board at this particular moment.

current active users looks like it's counting sessions based on default cookie length. The list below shows activity back to around a couple hours ago.
