If that's the case they should have drafted Malik Hooker. fukking Browns are trash.I'm not bout to break this shyt all the way down but...
Peppers was the single high safety on this call and playing the deep middle. This is not unusual and many of the more athletic, instinctive safeties with range will play with more depth in these types of coverages because they can cover enough ground to still impact the play. When Reggie Nelson was at Florida he used to line up in the parking lot he played so deep...but he was an outstanding playmaker because his range allowed him to be.
Bottom line is there's nothing wrong with Peppers alignment in that shot. At all.

Peppers is a natural SS but for some reason Williams is using him as a "center fielder" type FS. I don't know why. I do know that Malik Hooker is getting burnt and roasted every Sunday...but that's life for many rookie DB's in the league. Malik is out there struggling too.If that's the case they should have drafted Malik Hooker. fukking Browns are trash.

The better question is: why are the Browns playing him at the free safety when he is clearly a downhill run stopping type of DB?
Exactly. I've been saying that about him for the past two years. He only makes sense in one of those hybrid safety/linebacker positions. He's not a corner or a deep cover safety. He's good for making tackles on runs and swing passes behind the LOS, but that's pretty much the only skill he has that's above average. The rest is all just hype and looking the part. He's athletic but does nothing with itNo clue. I didn't watch their game vs the Titans but I saw he didn't play and their defense was much improved.... I don't know where he fits in he NFL. He's not a playmaking type of DB, he had 1 more INT than me in college(and I didn't play college football).

Don’t disrespect Reed like that![]()
