The movement to get Black people to withhold votes didn’t go anywhere offline. In real life people voted. Maybe at a slightly lower rate, but not enough to lose sleep over.

The demographic that reliably votes and the demographic that watches YouTube videos aren’t the same.

And yes, white people withhold their vote sometimes. A bunch of republicans didn’t vote for Trump last election cuz they watched too many Lincoln Project ads. They didn’t turn into Biden voters. They stayed home or skipped picking a president.

The same reason why the GOP and conservative think tanks spend millions to prevent black people from voting, they simply don't want black people voting. And if the black vote is a little too high for their likings, they simply redraw the lines to weaken the vote.
