Let me clear this up for you; my whole point about Puerto Ricans and Confederate flag shirts is that they tend to get in where they fit in wherever they live especially in the Deep South particularly Florida where their populations are growing in Leaps and Bounds. If they live an area inhabited by rednecks they tend to be more redneck anything else.

You will not find them associated with black people and these redneck areas. If there's a place Latin culture dominates then naturally they'll segregate themselves off with other Latinos. There's no special relationship here with blacks and Puerto Ricans in fact some would say it's the inverse. Whatever goes on in the Bronx or Harlem it doesn't happen in the south.

Puerto Ricans are the biggest and fastest group in central and north central Florida. I fact my last 3 bosses before moving were Island born or Florida Born Puerto Ricans.

Many are from the island and have no connection or affinity for the black American or hip hop culture that you speak of. In fact from talking to them they resent the fact Puerto Rican culture is associated with Nuyoricans, "African Americans" and hip hop. I've with worked plenty of Puerto Ricans from Puerto Rico, Florida Born and from the Island and NYC.

The Island culture dominants the Puerto Ricans in Florida not the Nuyorican culture or hip hop. Then the dominant mainstream culture and in some places
The southern redneck culture. So many Puerto Ricans who raised in Florida by Island born or NY Rican parents are basically functionally white.

They don't particularly seek blacks for friendship in fact the avoid us. They hold the same views on blacks and Blackness as the rest of society. They might vote Democrat but lot are Republican too.

I haven't live there for a few years I live here since mid 2000s until recently. I was here when Trayvon Martin was killed just a few towns over from where I lived at the time.

You don't even see the Pr-black mashups babies down in Florida like you see in NY and PA it totally the opposite here.
