:dwillhuh: You can't be serious. Payton was to get our Oakfor pick back and a PG who can't shoot go that way. Randle an undersized 4 in the west really breh. MCW really breh who is horrible in every statistical category and a 11th pick. Parker who was oversized and torn acl, Wiggins a three who can't dribble or has an consistent jumper.

Noel the best rookie defensive player since who David Robinson who improved the team defensive in every statistical category. What are you smoking

Payton would be better than any pg in the 2016 draft. Randle has roughly the same standing reach as Kevin Love and Blake Griffin. if he's undersized then so are blake and love. Parker's game isn't based on explosiveness like D-Rose, he should recover from the acl. Wiggins was ROY and averaged 19/5/3 since December. he's got future superstar written all over him.

So Hinkie sucks for stockpiling picks, but the Lakers would've traded a #2 for a bunch of future picks?

Okafor, who stopped getting hype by Laker fans after Russell was the pick, won't be a perennial all-star, but the Lakers would've given up a guy with superstar potential for him and a bunch of future 1st round picks, which according to you, is dumb strategy :patrice:

i don't think they would have but it wouldn't have hurt to try. his strategy of stockpiling picks and not doing anything with them is the problem.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
never said i wouldn't like to keep the pick. just saying it isn't as devastating as losing a lottery pick in a talent rich draft. if this was next year and we were in danger of losing a lottery pick in the josh jackson, dennis smith, harry giles, jayson tatum draft, i'd be HEATED.

2016 is really all about ben simmons. and you need the #1 pick or top 3 at worst to get him. i'm not sweating it.

Right to swap next year, 2017 and the pick in 2018.

Next years draft isn't great but losing a pick is never good :camby:

You were talking about how Okafor was going to be great, now apparently he sucks :dead:

Mudiay is DEFINITELY ahead of Russell. way more athletic. way better slasher. better lateral quickness. better defensive potential. all Russell has on him is a jumpshot and that can be learned more easily than it is to learn how to become faster, stronger, or more athletic.
But now Russell has superstar potential and Mudiay will just be a perennial all star

true. but i'd rather lose a pick in a bad draft than lose one in a great one. having no lottery pick in a draft like 2013 is alot better than having no lottery pick in a draft like 2003 (for example).

and i never said okafor would be great or bad. he'll be a demarcus cousins type. good enough to put up 20/10 but not a first option on a championship caliber team. FYI i was one of the few early on that liked mudiay over okafor when we landed the #2 pick. http://www.thecoli.com/threads/lake...nked-2-on-their-board-ahead-of-okafor.320276/

i'd rather sign marc gasol than draft okafor. i'm really scared off by his lack of lateral mobility on pick n rolls let alone the fact he doesn't protect the rim. plus his god awful free throw shoooting.

some people are calling him the next Russell Westbrook. I personally have no problem with taking Mudiay 2nd overall. he's was spectacular at the hoops summit last year.

he was being projected as a top 2 pick as early as 2013 because of what he was doing on the high school circuit. he also dominated the hoops summit last year. displayed the slashing ability and athleticism of john wall.
he looked like a star to me before he went to china.

I still like Mudiay alot but I got around to Russell after watching him more. I only watched him play once last year (against Arizona). and he didn't impress me. It took me digging more into his game to discover the sublime passing ability and feel for the game he has.

mudiay could still be better, but i'm fine with his selection. and definitely fine with passing okafor (who will be good but not great).

i watched russell only play ONCE last season. against Arizona. wasn't impressed. I watched Mudiay play 3x (hoops summit, mcdonalds, jordan classic). he impressed me all 3 games. that comment was based on just one russell game.

I trust mitch and the scouting department when it comes to players. their track record speaks for itself. clarkson last year, Marc Gasol in the second round in 2008, bynum in 2005, etc. they usually get the best player available in the draft at whatever position they pick. after it got leaked we were looking at russell, I decided to analyze his game more. discovered his sublime passing ability and feel for the game, and I became a fan.

if we picked mudiay, i'd also be happy. both guys will be great. but i trust mitch and the scouts above myself. last year, I wanted us to take Zach Lavine at #7. We took Randle and he's looking like a fine selection. Lavine also looks really good. I suspect Russell and Mudiay will be the same. both better than okafor.

Jazz are a playoff team soon? :mjlol:

Thunder, Warriors, Rockets, Clippers, Spurs, Grizz are all a lock assuming their teams stay together.

Then you got the Suns, with or without LMA, Mavs, Pelicans.

Favors is nice and I love me some Goby, but they ain't making playoffs with that cac Hayward as their #1 option. This ain't the E-League homie. :francis:

Hayward could be an All Star by next year...

He shoulda been one this year :manny:

Look, I know it's easy to talk shyt about him cause he's white and plays in Utah but dude really be coming with it every game.

This is some hershel walker trade type shyt i mean damn

actually its not. what are the chances the kings are picking higher than the sixers in 2016 and 17? almost zero. Sixers are still tankinig and the kings are trying to make a run at the 8th seed. the kings would need to win the lottery on some Orlando Magic in 93 type shyt and the Sixers would have to fall outta the top 3 like the Knicks did this year. its possible but the chances are LOW.

a 2018 top 10 protected pick is all they'll get out of this. and while good, is not some spectacular coup. this is like the nets/celtics trade for KG and Pierce. everyone acts like it was some incredible deal. when the reality is all boston got are mid-1st rounders. nets will not be bad enough for those switching picks to matter. same with the kings.

Gimme Derryck Thornton over him

The Sixers have been a complete disgrace to the league the last 2 seasons. If an NBA team has 48 players suit up for their team in that time span indicates a severe lack of talent. Compound that lack of talent by barely meeting the salary FLOOR, and the only reason they grazed that was due to Javale McGee who played 6 games for the Sixers and was then cut. Won 19 games in 2014 and 18 games this year and look to be no better this go around. 2 of Hinkle 5 first round picks are even going to suit up for the Sixers next year. They dealt MCW for the Lakers first from Phoenix which is top 3 protected yr so they'd likely be drafting for a point guard they hope that can be eventually as good as the guy they dealt for it.

People are shytting on the Sixers for stocking lotto picks, but

TWolves have 6 recent lotto picks, including the last 3 #1 overall selections

Jazz have 6 recent lotto picks, including some from 2010.

shyt on Philly for trading MCW but big up the Jazz who traded a recent #3 pick for Kendrick Perkins a few months ago :dwillhuh: and tried to trade Trey Burke during the draft and are apparently looking at moving Favors.

Kanter was beat out for his starting spot and is a restricted FA currently. Utah became significantly better after the deal, if you watched (doubtful). Was the trade of MCW a basketball decision?

Every fukking move is on promise in sports for GMs man come on now you better than that. Sit there and not admit what he doing in 2 years is not impressive

It's trash, the Sixers made the trade with the Kings to work towards meeting the cap floor. They'll probably get a pick from the Cavs to take Brendan Haywood deal too. And 30 guys will suit up for the Sixers again as they win 20 games.
