The whole thing is strange and murky...We have this debate every year.....I really can't call it 100%. I've seen his docket report, and there are sealed motions all over it. But, that's not exactly a smoking gun. And, there was an overwhelming amount of evidence against him....The part that makes me laugh is that they gave him this beyond lenient deal, not even a 60 months sentence, just the 12 months, which he carried on about like he was going for 10 years. No effort to even avoid the allegations. If T.I really wanted to clean his name, he'd release his PSR, I believe the plea agreement was released.
Also, for clarity, cooperating in your plea agreement is not the same as being a working 'Confidential informant'. Cooperation would have likely required TI to give up all the info he had on any criminal activity, or the 'best ones' that could lead to indictments and convictions.
