:yeshrug: Punch line rappers don’t age well at the end of the day.

Nobody gonna really appreciate L, Cassidy, fab discography when it’s all said and done like that.

Big L was much more then a punchline rapper, b....he was doing creative joints & amazing story telling songs, he was pretty much coming in to his prime...then sadly got shot...:mjcry:

Big L is legendary, he birthed alot of these punchline rappers you hear today. plus he could make music with deeper content.

Is it just me or is there some NYC rap music that only appeals to people in/from NYC? Big L falls in that category for me. I am not from there and I am not into his music anymore. I sold all my Big L records and don't regret it in the slightest.

Maybe, but L was more creative and funny than pretty much any rapper to ever rap so because of that people from all the world loved and still love Lamont Coleman.

I never see a big l thread on here. He's the most underrated rapper in coli history.

:heh: the coli don't hate Big L

It's just that The Coli is made of folks of all ages from all regions,

and nobody's gonna understand Big L's impact on witty punchline rap like someone who's a fan and/or a student of late 80s/early to mid-90s east coast hip hop.

:mjlol: that ain't everybody.

:sas2: you can use The Coli/The Internet for a microcosm case study of post-intenet society

:manny: but you CANNOT use it as a sample size to see if your opinion matches the people you don't meet on it.

people are confusing his redundant flow (which happens to be the standard punchline flow) as him actually using punchlines every bar

I love L so that flow comment isn't a jab. his flow really was on repeat
