I think it's more that NY'rs lack the ability to laugh at themselves unlike most other regions.

And in my experience NYC brehs don't get offended like this offline. A lot come upstate for school/work or whatever and I've been friends with a number of them over the years and we clown each other. They call us up north bamas and we get at them too but I can't remember any being genuinely defensive the way brehs on here get lol

I'm from Flint, lived in Detroit all my childhood and teenage years and spent my early 20's with family in Louisiana and Alabama. Niccas in Midwest and South are more cool, calm and collected. More laid back type of cats. If it's a problem it's not a lot of woofing, niccas will either get to swinging or clapping.

NY niccas just loud as hell for no reason. Most of that shyt is pump faking too. I can't stand loud mouthed ass niccas. That's the type of niccas NYC seem to breed...niccas laughing loud as hell, talking much shyt, trying to be the center of attention type...I don't f*ck with niccas like that.

i didnt really have time earlier.. but just to chime in.. being a cat who grew up in Fla.. but, spent alot of time up North.. as well, as in SoCal..

i cant speak for everyone.. but, alot of folks from both coasts.. always showed love to hip-hop artists, as long as they werent wack.. i got old Stretch & Bobbito tapes i actually recorded off the radio() early mid-90s while staying months in NY.. have alot of West coast artists throughout the show..

when i lived out West.. forgot the old hip-hop station.(maybe 92.something).. also, played ALOT of music from NY/East, SF, South.. you name it.. if it was dope.. you heard it on stations, or mixtapes..

i dont know.. maybe i just remember things differently, or wasnt too into coastal beef like that.. the music was dope, and there was some shyt going on.. but, wasnt like folks make it out to be now.. got nothing but respect for both coasts, and anyone putting out good music to this day.. because, all the other shyt is just fickle to me.. no matter where its from.. im a fan of the music & culture at the end of the day..
