Im gonna be honest. Back in the day, going upside a womans head wasn't a big deal. We all had family members that were abused and didn't go to the cops. Getting women high to fukk was commonplace to some, Grown men used to pick up girls from high school and no one batted a eye. Dudes in their late 20s dating a 17 year old was not frowned upon until the 90s.

I am in no way condoning anything at all. I aint cosigning shyt. im just being really pragmatic and saying that times changed. Me too movement changed things. Womens rights became a real issue. We look at life through a 2024 lens about things that happened 30 years ago. Society has evolved

Entertainment industry always been that way. Go read up on the allegations against James Brown and Rick James. And countless cac rock stars. Audiences willing to overlook a lot long as it ain't shoved in their face.

Now it's a lot easier to get aired out with social media and everyone recording everything.

The elephant in the room with hip hop specifically is the way it mythologize criminal activity :mjpls: we all see the obsession on here with street credentials and criminal backgrounds.

Puff been moving like a straight up gangster for decades and nobody held it against him. Strolled into Interscope during business hours and whooped Stoute's ass with multiple witnesses. Nobody cared. Damn near killed a UCLA football coach with a kettlebell. Nobody cared. But now we acting surprised that he'd smack his girl around. It's different when you see something like this on video.

I have a theory that lack of resources largely keeps the most men from becoming a degenerate deviants.

Testosterone is dangerous. Thankfully for society most men don’t achieve financial success till well in their 40s when their testosterone levels start to fall.

I see Jay no where in that article :jbhmm:

I'm not involved in anything current, Drake/Kendrick,, Jay/Nas, Biggie/Pac - but hip hop been hiding all types of molestation, rape situations, sexual slavery, homosexuality, etc. This is on top of slave labor contracts, forced int c00ning, natural born c00ns, and the other typical capitalist/white supremacist stuff y'all always praising.

Nobody wants to talk about Missy, allegedly, turning out her female artists, even though all the usual suspects on The Coli is kee keeing it up with Katt Williams exposing the industry. But Puffy is big news?

The fact that this board is obsessed with gossip makes me wonder if I'm lurking on LSA.

:childplease:

Not keeping yourself in check is dangerous.

You start assigning negative connotations on to biological functions and you will ride the slippery slope into Eugenics.
