It can go both ways, depending on who's regional perspective is being brought into here for debate. However, this is out of respect more than anything else.

That still doesn't take away from us having our own attitude, slang, type of beat selections, musical influences, etc.
California has tons of diverse rappers and most aren't Southern-influenced, but they will pay homage to y'all every now and then.

Some of 90's Southern Rap did have some G-Funk influence, no difference when you heard West Coast Rap over Southern beats.
So this isn't "biting" or even denying influence, both helped each other out. Although, this being the Coli, it's gonna get ugly real fast, so let the fukkery commence.

far as shoutin out dallas..he didnt have 2...



tom joyner n d.o.c are best friends n every mornin when tom slot came on at k-104...at 5-10..every hr on the hr..this song was played...n doc would call in...

doc didnt forget where he came from...he made sure to reach back or keep in touch..i still remember when he had his accident n tom crying on the air..

Remember when there were NO southern influences in East Coast rap and there was still an anti NY skit on a few swishahouse tapes, IN 1999?

Remember when there were NO southern influences in East Coast rap and there was still an anti NY skit on a few swishahouse tapes, IN 1999?
yep..i was with them nikkas in new york...when the shyt went down n is funny the 4-5 haters og ron c enountered that week...didnt equivalent the amount of money n fans he made at rutgers, syracuse, barnard, columbia, cornell..vassar and a couple other schools

the ny lesson was never goto stores or mom n pops...touch the people...that 98-99 shyt is what inspired the campus love series

Southern ARTIST pretty much always showed love,mentioned influences....some southern fans might he a little ungrateful and try to downplay it though if you bring it up.
