A teachable moment for The Coli here: the success of any minority in America depends on the economic prosperity of their motherland and America's ties to that country. Basically there would be more incentive to make AAs more comfortable here if it meant African countries would send their youth here for higher studies, siphoning money from that country to this, having their homegrown millionaires and billionares invest $ buy assets here etc... :manny:

Edit: for example Chinese people, Indian people are welcome, but everyone is :mjpls: about Mexicans

That actually sounds really rational :jawalrus:

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Some people need the identity and pride that brings.

Or, some people understand how the world works and how having an economic power in Africa that offers citizenship to people of the diaspora in the same way Israel offers it to Jews would benefit black people all over the world....

I dont understand pan africanism or why people care about African history.(egypt):mindblown:
Africans and the diaspora are so diverse that most have nothing in common with each other. I dont known what a Nigerian can do about racism in the US or what a AA could do about corruption in Nigeria.

Why do White Americans care so much about Europe? Why the fukk do Americans give a damn about England or France or Germany or Spain?

Would be nice to have one country in Africa that offers carte de Blanche citizenship just for Black Americans and another one that offers carte de Blanche citizenship for all blacks

Nothing wrong with caring about Africa but some pan Africanists who want AAs to abandon the culture we've built the last 500 years to go wear dashikis can eat a dikk

This some shyt I expect from a racist troll in a youtube comment section...

Why you think people in africa just wear dashikis? :patrice:

That's not the main point. The point is some pan Africanists feel like black Americans should completely abandon the culture we've built the last 500 years

Africans don't only wear dashikis but "woke" people think that dashikis are a symbol of unity

I'm all for black unity. I'm just not giving my culture up

Not Out Of Africa: How "Afrocentrism" Became An Excuse To Teach Myth As History (New Republic Book) Paperback – July 10, 1997

by Mary Lefkowitz 3.2 out of 5 stars 192 customer reviews

Not Out of Africa
has sparked widespread debate over the teaching of revisionist history in schools and colleges. Was Socrates black? Did Aristotle steal his ideas from the library in Alexandria? Do we owe the underlying tenets of our democratic civilizaiton to the Africans? Mary Lefkowitz explains why politically motivated histories of the ancient world are being written and shows how Afrocentrist claims blatantly contradict the historical evidence. Not Out of Africa is an important book that protects and argues for the necessity of historical truths and standards in cultural education. For this new paperback edition, Mary Lefkowitz has written an epilogue in which she responds to her critics and offers topics for further discussion. She has also added supplementary notes, a bibliography with suggestions for further reading, and a glossary of names.

White Athena: The Afrocentrist Theft of Greek Civilization

White Athena: The Afrocentrist Theft of Greek Civilization
by Walter Slack

Ancient Egypt was one of the great civilizations of antiquity, but it was not the only great one. Afrocentrists claim that the Greeks stole their philosophy, science, and culture, but very few Afrocentrists ever say which specific aspects of these items were allegedly purloined.
