That's a Basquiat and don't judge my purchasing decisions, b.unfortunately he n ever profited to this level while he was alive. Now cacs are profiting millions flipping his work

Obviously prices of an artists work go up after their death because there won’t be any more created, but Basquiat got to make films, exhibited in the major art Meccas of the world, and collaborated heavily with his artistic idols like Andy Warhol.unfortunately he n ever profited to this level while he was alive. Now cacs are profiting millions flipping his work
People used to attack Monets with umbrellas, people who don’t understand art are always looking to attack it. And are more focused on monetary value than anything else.
You can’t honestly expect an answer to your leading question. There’s no formula. Certain materials + Compositional elements = X amount of money. Doesn’t work that way.
You just wanted to shyt talk something you resented and didn’t understand. And criticizing things because you don’t understand them is a hallmark of a closed mind

That cert lifeThat's a Basquiat and don't judge my purchasing decisions, b.

You’re completely distorting the Basquiat narrative to serve your own (thinly veiled misogynist) outlook on the art world. The modern art world has been on the hypebeast wave for at least 70 years. They find some artists to build up, fund them and give them a platform just so they can say “you ain’t up on this”
Look up the story of the MOMA art museum here in NY. A group of rich ass women basically used some of their rich husbands money to support artists they fukked with and then build a museum around that. It’s hype. And it’s not hard to replicate as long as you follow through with constantly convincing people the shyt is dope
