It also feels like boxing was bigger in Tyson's day. And he was one of those guys like Jordan, Tiger, etc that was bigger than the sport and everyone wanted to see them. Floyd has a ton of fans but its not on that level. He also has a lot of haters and some legal issues and generally isn't as safe as companies want their spokespeople to be.
