J. cole does everything on his own with his team that can fit in a van ... most people farm out songs get dozen of people writing hooks and doing beats for them ...

j cole pretty much does most of that in house so it takes longer

but the payoff is when he comes back around his fans are hype

the answer is n the thread itself, to make the most amount of money possible while you still have the chance

you know the principle of Diminishing returns right ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diminishing_returns

your highest selling album your fan base will decline even if you stay consistent by like 15 percent till zero ... unless you become a legacy artist and clock a decade in the music business

Jesus Christ OP is a retard... I mean time and time again people are bringing up valid points to disprove this theory of his and he just keeps going on and on with that helmet of his.

What do you base this on ?

because rappers likehim lose their fanbase overtime when they grow up and mature. it's how i stopped being a fan of him.

thinkof justin bieber. he was cashing out all those years to the max while he still could, cuz he knew someday his audience would grow up stop being fans, and the youth would move on to the next pop act

I dunno breh... he could just get on some A&R sh!t and step back into production

I actually thought Forest Hills was too soon but his fans know he emulates Nas in taking time between albums

It could go either way....too soon to call it when he went plat and is having a successful tour

He can play the "underdog" role for years while outselling everyone but Drake

As for Beiber...he had to shed that teeny bopper image and went the badboy route ....now he's all humble
and should be gunnin for Timberlake spot in a few years.... provided Timbaland/Pharrell lace him with heat
