why doesn't MC Lyte get her respect for being an elite emcee ?

first of all as far as women rappers I never see MC Lyte on any Mt. Rushmore on the internet or rap pop culture

I only always hear Lauryn Hill and Missy Elliot, and sometimes Nicki Minaj

but Lyte was very lyrically talented, not just as a female rapper, but a rapper period

she's one of the best emcees of her generation, and I also think she would've washed most male rappers in a battle

did she ever have a battle by the way, I ain't that old, lol

but seriously I just want MC Lyte to get her flowers

She has one of the great diss records of alltime. Again , purists and old school knows the record. Unfortunately, her feud was against a rapper that others wouldnt have heard of. So even in "best diss records" lists, she wouldnt be on modern ones.

I wish some more mainstream rapper of her time would've tried to diss her, I think MC Lytes's style was tailor made for battle rap

I like all types of rap, but I'm partial to battle rap and lyrical rap with creative metaphors, punchlines, similes, analogies, wordplay, and uniqueness

Antionette had the worst record contract of all time.....I read her book and as a fan I deadass wanted to cry lol

Her braindead/crook record company dude didn't understand hip-hop, wouldn't let her diss lyte properly and wanted her to make pop records.....he wouldn't even let her do shows like that had her looking CRAZY not responding to Lyte

he killed antionette's career not lyte.. her responses to lyte were so weak cause lytes camp idolmakers had a secret deal with herby luvbug that battle was over nothing and was never suppose to happen anyway

She was basically a slave and was muzzled.....Lyte wasn't fukking with her in any way, shape or form
