Blaxploitation were made with the express purpose of amplifying stereotypes to comic book levels. The Mack is no different. Doesnt mean people cant find it entertaining, though.

yeah ...it speaks for itself that mostly gangsta rap fans and rappers whom big up this flick..iv'e actually enjoyed the couple of f blaxploitation films i'vs seen for what they were for the most part but that was probably cause they had pro black heroes fighting against white supremacy or justice not the right to pimp hod in peace

The Mack is a hood classic, bruh. Being from the Bay, that pimp lifestyle was and is a reality.

But Blaxploitation was a minstrel show genre much like modern Trap music. You got former CO's claiming to be former drug czars and no one bats an eye. But it ain't c00ning if there is some reality involved. Just like Gangsta Rap, they were mere telling what happens in the hood on a bad day. I think today there is less counterbalance between c00nish and consciousness much like the 70's. Nowadays, 90% of rappers and public figures are c00ns and 10% are conscious whereas in the 80's and 90's, you had the Boyz 'N The Hood to balance out Menace II Society, you had Tribe Called Quest to balance out N.W.A., Public Enemy to balance out 2 Live Crew, Souls of Mischief to balance out Spice 1 etc.

So pimps was really part time black nationalist whom cared for their hos and had mafia style turf wars with drug lords and rival pimps

.gangsta rap is modern and highly profitable minstrel show..gangsta rappers don't just detail the ills which occurs in the hood they speak of it in the first person as they are actively involved in the criminality and glorify it

It's on Torrent sites. And The Mack has a Pro Black Militant brother in the movie that urges him to change his ways. It's actually some deep social commentary in the movie about "the struggle" and race relations of that era. I don't think it's how you perceive it to be. But of course, forming an opinion an a film without viewing it is likely to lead to misconception.
