Why doesn't the sitcom/show "Roc" get more accolades?

Breh, that show was piff. I think the problem was that it came out during the period when Fox was leaning on the black audience hard for ratings, and got overlooked because of the other equally great showsbthat were on.

i know there are heavy weights like the cosby show and fresh prince

but when everyone else mentions living single, a different world, etc i think Roc is up there it had comedy and drama/life lessons and it was probably the most realistic show out ....homie was a garbage man :damn:

where does it rank among the shows you grew up with?

its in my top 10 :leostare:

Good show

Damn at his brother being a dead beat though.

Roc was my shyt. I was pissed when they cancelled. I went back watching it and it def held up. But it's hard for black dramas to make it. It had a good mix of comedy in it but at its heart was a drama.

Even though I still think the whole who was the murderer shyt was a joke where you could vote on who you wanted the killer to be.

Man it's amazing to me that there was 10 times more diversity on television back then than there is now and we've supposedly moved forwards

And it wasn't even like we were being catered to, white people still had their shows and they did big numbers and dominated but we were at least out there. Think about it, during this era we had a blue collar trashman, a doctor, an adolescent nerd, 4 single black women, a radioshow host, and an ensemble comedy sketch cast all on TV at the same time.
