Exactly, I wouldn't expect it to start large you have to create the lane before others follow the path I dig it, we would all put into it maybe monthly/bi-weekly and when others see how it benefits those involved they would get involved. And maybe instead of having one cat oversee the entire investment we have a select group of cats not to many though 3-5 at best, we setup a system where users can see whats invested but to access it we have some sort of codes that each user is given and have to use together in order to actually manipulate the funds.

Sort of like google authentication, but between 3-5 people and these people would collectively have to put that code in for any one of the 3-5 to actually make use of the investment, it's the easiest way we can avoid the "i don't know that negro" syndrome.
I like it like a board of trustees that makes it harder to get finessed.

I sourced the idea of an all black social media site. I was thinking of making it like $5 a month and that money would go to making sure the site was optimized (because the undertaking would be huge).

I even asked if people would pay $5 a year

Nyggas laughed at the idea. Gave me the :camby: and said “why would I pay for that” but steadily complain about Facebook being anti black.

Whenever these topics come up, I gotta laugh. Everyone is like “make sure there’s no agents” “how do we even know y’all black” “let’s work together” but the minute someone says “hey let’s put a little bit of money up” the backpedaling happens :mjlol:

Group economics or even real collaboration probably won’t happen because of how close minded people are behind the anonymity of the internet. Nyggas will argue for 10 pages and defend whatever their point is so ferociously that they end up insulting each other over something silly. Very few people here engage in a way that show we would be able to really truly collaborate.

Your best bet is to set up something like @Blacksands outside of the Coli and use the Coli as a way to reach a supplemental audience. I’d absolutely love to be proven wrong, but I don’t think anything with any real momentum will actually start here :yeshrug:

I'm willing to take a risk $5-$10 a month isn't bad.

I posted the idea a while ago. I thought it would be a dope idea. Make it invite only, and strict. $5 a month would not only make sure that people aren’t in there trolling (if they are then they are wasting their money) but also it vets out any and everyone from coming in.

I wanted to make it a place for healthy discourse as well as varying opinions. If someone has a different opinion, cool, just be respectful etc. the black experience is multi faceted.

This was RIGHT after Facebook banned Farrakhan and I thought, we should have our own social media platforms. But launching them is costly and hard and we’d need some type of financial support

Nyggas hit the :camby: at the notion of paying for something that would be for them and support them, but complained about the free option :stopitslime:

It’s not about getting the money

It’s the buy in

We all love to complain, rarely though do we want to financially support an idea that might alleviate our complaints.

I can set up a crowdfund, that’s not the point. The point is, we aren’t all bought in to the idea that financially supporting each other is probably the smallest and most effective way to grow.

Go to the black supermarket, spend $10 extra, that black supermarket is able to employ a young man and keep him off the street. Your money and ideas matter

It’s much more logical to engage in group economics with people near you. To do it online, and based on the principles of this place, would surely be a misstep of some sort.

Can’t see who you’re interacting with.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Practicing group economic online with a bunch of people you do not know is not really smart.

Before I engage in group economics of any sort I have to know how you look. Where you work and where you live.

So Incase you do anything shady I’ll know where to find you.

This is the reason why I didn’t join the group economics we had going in my job. I was paranoid that any of these people would leave the job and would not be heard from again.
