Majority of people think that hardcore trap music is just straight up trash with little to no musical value outside of getting "turnt up" :yeshrug:

I'm not saying I agree but that's just how the majority feel

At first and then Nah... Nah Bro. TI makes no more trap. I am sure you know that lol.

ti, pretty much coined the phrase to rename gangsta/horrorcore, and dj uneek's style production.
when, he dropped the classic change of direction mixtape from i'm serious, titled:

TRAP MUSICK
all mixed with sample based production, and synth like orchestra to horror movie house flair.
that most would title was the evolution.
triple six offered to gangsta rap in larger oversaturated volume.
incomparison to bone's dj uneekk's output.
which was made to capitalize on a rabid fanbase.
without any actual major label content driven alternative.
to satisfy the platinum drawing fan fervor success from eazy e's ruthless key to the city of Cleveland based group, BONE.

so, thus any music that ti does is trap musick.
as it is horrorcore,...
that means it can cover any subject basis from gangsta rap to comedy and even social commentary.

similar to the direction that a horror writer like steven king would make as an overall author.
who is usually and typically deemed just a horror writer.
yet, his entire writing pedigree extends further than just horror.
on top of fitting into the film genre of horror, as well.
while, still remaining the most profitable genre style of any type of film/content.

same with ti,...
he may make blurred lines,..yet, since he is a ti.
he can still be considered part of the aptly titled genre.
all because his presence is as polarizing as the genre he entitled.

ti, as well as triple6, have all won glorious awards, and it extends further than just the south.
it extends outwardly as an entire genre.
when, certain elements are met consistently from artist who subscribe to the ideals of its amalgamated gangsta rap style.

usually a horrorcore, or trap musick style artist with considerable pr.
where the material is given or made safe.
or some type of content for whatever reason they feel works.
to keep the material from being criticized more than it typically would.

that material, can win awards.
it maybe few and far between because the genre is based around horror movie scores, and strikingly violent content.
yet, when done with consideration in mind and proper pr.
trap musick artist can and have won considerable mainstream crossover awards.
regardless of the stigma the artist gave off originally in the press.

TI on Robin Thicke song is not close to trap..and to be honest TI on Rubbaband Man was not as trap as Most trap. He is not the face of trap period.

ti, is the mainstream face of the genre.
he coined the actual name of the genre.
that is actually a great credible submission namewise.
plus, at least a black guy got to name his own style of music for a fukking change.
so, what is your problem with that.

trap musick is basically what if somebody else made bone dj uneek style gangsta rap.
then, continued to fleshout the implied direction that bone laid in their music.
that pretty much is the gangsta rap content equivalent of la's westcoast shop's freestyle fellowship brand of music.
it is like the direction eazy viewed the westcoast shop in, more than likely.
if the content of the westcoast shop's music direction vibe wise was made to just be solely la gang culture.
instead of adhering to the culture's non-violent direction.
the extended from the five's cowboy responsiblility to the streets style edict content wise.
so, there are a lot of elements and amalgamations to rap, in content and direction in trap musick.

The only trap album that truly deserved a grammy is tm 101

the grammy's have a certain thing they are about.
that they probably will never outwardly endorse that style/piece/type of music.
unless, it has a more accessible polarizing mainstream acceptable figure.
plus, it also has an equally accessible film piece.
to buffer or aid in downplaying the background and direction of that type of artist.

this is the grammy's,...
you already know what it is.
