Why don't artists make Radio Edits/Clean Mixes anymore?

I remember back in the days, artists like 2Pac, Rakim, Nas, R. Kelly even upto like 2005/06 with 50 Cent for example I remember being the last one (at least to my knowledge) would make the effort to make Radio Edit mixes. Their songs would not be your simple run of the mill just bleep out the curse words or lyrics that were too "edgy" for the casual listeners but make the effort to rework the track to fix those elements 2Pac, R. Kelly, Biggie and Nas were my favourites as you could just buy their CD single knowing their would be legit alternate mixes on there unlike today when they just drop a song and that's it... no remixes, no adlibs in the background. NOTHING lol

They can be dope and something different, only thing is can add extra expensive, and take more time and effort. I think it's worth it though for singles, as long as the studio rates aren't extortionate...

That Pac edit is really dope....

The aim for artists now isn't radio, popularity is built online and independently so that approach doesn't change. I even watched an interview where Lil Yachty said they play a unfinished, non mixed/mastered version of one of his songs on national radio still :mjlol:

Radio follows what's popular more now instead of being an artist's main focus

It gets annoying if all you hear are gaps in the song. Singles should definitely be released with a clean version.

BTW, does anyone have the radio version of Bling Bling. Haven been able to find it or purchase it

Clean music is more accepted overall I think. Think about the kids, the parents, the work environment, the elderly, shyt is just easier with no curse words. I'm all for the explicit shyt but artist should always have both imo
