Cause it would upend the myth of white supremacy.

Contrary to the front they put on, cacs like fact that they were the slave master and we were the slave. It gives them a feeling of superiority. So that's why they not clamoring to popularize the fact that not long ago they were the slave and we were the master.

Don't fall for the lie that they are ashamed about slavery. They love that sh*t. And they don't want to ever acknowledge a time in history where they were the ones being sold as slaves.

"my ancestors were victims of the barbary slave trade dont see me complaining"
:Mjplssip:

Whites will never do that. They act like they don't like slavery but in reality they love that sh*t. Gives them the feeling of supremacy.

They will never acknowledge the fact they were also enslaved. Never.

In the Silver Lining
I would counter argue that a decent percentage are very much aware of it.

The U.S. Marine Anthem, in the 2nd line of 1st verse alludes to the "shores of Tripoli"...which refers to Marines being sent to North Africa to fight Barbary pirates.

From the wikipedia link in OP:

In the first years of the 19th century, the United States of America and some European nations fought and won the First Barbary Warand the Second Barbary War against the pirates. The Barbary Wars were a direct response of the British, French and the Dutchstates to the raids and white slave trade by the Barbary pirates, which ended in the 1830s when the region was conquered by France. The white slave trade and markets in the Mediterranean declined and eventually disappeared after the European occupations.[11]

B/c other folks would engage in a "My tragedy was worse than your tragedy" argument. Btw, it doesn't get ignored, esp. in not this xenophobic environment.

It's their second favorite reply when the topic of slavery comes up. The first being the "Irish were slaves too" myth

:dahell:

Some even admitting moors are black in the process

:heh:

The Wikipedia page in the op even sources Robert Davis, who has a huge ws following. His most famous book is about the Barbary slave trade, and is the media's go-to guy on the subject.

What % of jarheads know that reference. or the "Halls of Montezuma" one in the line precedeing it?
