Cacs tend to stay FAR away from that part of human history. If you notice, there are hardly any movies on the Islamic Golden Age, no tv shows, no popular books set in that period, etc. There's tons of shows on the Dark ages but, none on the powerful nations that existed at the time (Spain, North Africa, West Africa, Near East/Middle East). They gotta maintain the lie that blacks weren't in Europe or in the Old World running shyt. So, they can't do those kinda shows because it would be historically inaccurate to leave blacks out of it. Now the Barbary Slave Trade happened a few centuries later but, too much focus on it would make people want to know about the centuries beforehand too. These cacs would NEVER show Arabs, North Africans, biracial black men and darkskin black men running through Europe fukkin their hoes, enslaving them, running empires and beating them in battle

Cacs do talk about it, but only when the Americas slave trade is brought up. Literally any youtube video i ever seen about slavery in the Americas has countless white boys in the comments going off with their what about the barbary slave trade b.s. that and their favorite "the Irish were slaves too" lies and deceit propaganda.

Can't think of any other time it's ever brought up.

Also that was more a prisoner of war trade than it was a slave trade. Those circumstances don't even put a fraction of a dent in the 400+ years of African slavery.

i agree with most of this. Most of Europe from the fall of the Roman Empire to the mid 16th century CE was a dump. The only thing they had going for them at the time was architecture and armour. However, it came at the expense of riches from trade. Poverty was rampant as well as food production being piss poor.
The places of Europe that were doing well during after the fall of the Roman Empire to the mid 16th century CE were those that traded with the Muslamics and those that were close to Roman aquaducts.
The average Middle Easterner, West African, North African and Swahili was far richer and a lot better off than the average Euro.

As for the Barbary slave raids. It would seriously put a dent to a number of things that even us black/SSA people would have to acknowledge:
1. White Supremacy isn't all powerful. In fact it's a misnomer the correct term is 'Western European Descended Hegemony'.
2. (Western) Europe only became powerful because of their colonisation and exploitation of the riches and resources of the Americas (crops, lands, slaves, precious metals etc) then with that they went on to trade all around the world. Even during the late 16th to 19th centuries, Europe still had major problems with poverty and disease.
