i'm not saying all they ever do is make wack shyt but as good as the beats on Space Oddessy are, they are not on the same level as The Watcher or Gin & Juice or Forgot About Dre. i'm not even saying Dre NEVER got any help from ANYONE of course that's stupid to say. it's just ridiculous IMO to say that he NEVER made any of his classic beats & all these other producers made ALL these beats FOR him. co production & ghost production are completely different things but people always assume that because it's Dre, he didn't do ANY of it which is complete bullshyt IMO

I think both of y'all are right,u said it yourself they don't only make bad beats and make great ones at time.....if they part of dres production team he can pick they great ones out the litter...but I don't think he just stealing they beats like sum people say or that he can't produce his own great beats too....but maybe without them he's on the same level they are where he produces sum great ones and has a litter full of average to wack ones...but instead he gets all the glory:manny:...well never really know,he's attached to so many classics he's doin sumthing right....but u almost hate to see him get more credit than a DJ Quik who I'm not awaree of a bunch of scandals like this.

And u can call him a perfectionist or maybe he's only as good as his production team:sadbron: u could look at it both ways....right now simply looks like he struggling to me....no perfectionist would release that bullshyt "I Need A Doctor" like he did.

Think about the artists Dre fukks with.
Most of them are brought to him by his friends or they're already superstars.
So if his friends doesn't bring him bay rappers, it will probably not happen.

The only rappers I know that deviate from his usual collaborators (i.e. friends of friends +stars) are cats like Slim Thug and Eve and Eve was a star at the time.
I don't know about xzibits story though...

Droop E is part of the reason people dont like the last 9 E-40 albums he dropped in three years.

Droop can't be held responsible for people who don't. Like a album with 40 songs when he producin probaly less than a 3rd of the songs, maybe they like all the songs he producin and don't even know it:manny: and I loved Overtime/Graveyard Shift its nearly on par w/Element Of Suprise and that's sayin alot:whoo:...who do need to stop releasin so much though, keep it to 1 album and he could be droppin classics 20 yrs in:krs:

Dr. Dre is overrated. Real talk. I ain't hatin on dres accomplishments, but after reading in detail all of the production credits from the chronic 1 & 2, dogg pound album, snoops albums, all those death row albums, eminem, 50 albums. Dude has so many gat damn co producers its rediculous. Mike elizondo, mel man, fred reck, scott storch, daz, and them nyggaz would make the damn beats, but dre would mix it and take the fuccin credit. Wtf iz that? I'm glad daz sued death row/suge and dre to get his credit for production

So which tracks are the ones where Dre takes all the credit?

Wouldn't naming the co-producers and musicians involved be the opposite of taking all the credit??

You're making too much sense for these fools bro, he's been consistently sharing credit for over a decade. Dre is a Quincy Jones type producer, not a Premier type, though he can still make a beat on his own, he obviously prefers to work with a talented team of musicians and direct the sound and structure, and then mix the track and add all the final tweaks.

After 25 years in the game consistantly dropping piff I don't see why people still question. Listen to the sound quality of GKMC compared to Section 80.

Section 80 was a mixtape. And since dre needs a hot of producers to make beats, that right there takes away a bit of his "greatness" show me 1 beat that dre made all on his own

It's hard to catch Dre's ear in general. We are talking about a guy that doesn't like 85% of his own music, which is why he never puts any out. He didn't even like Deep Cover, but Suge put it out.

This is exactly what it is....

I remember reading this Rollin With Dre book.

Rollin' with Dre: The Unauthorized Account: An Insider's Tale of the Rise ... - Donnell Alexander, Bruce Williams - Google Books

Shaq wanted some Dre beats for his album...Dr. Dre told Shaq he thinks he's a dope rapper but he should do his whole album over. Of course Shaq hit Dre with the :what:

Dre was right tho...Shaq was dope.
