look, i'm not gonna argue with yall...the fukkin "hood audience"...he gets play from black people here in cali where this concert was...so this is not the answer to OP.

also OP, you gotta look at where black people live in the bay (oakland, richmond, vallejo, pittsburg, antioch, etc.) young black kids aint about them drives to SF and San Jose (SJ especially since they have the most hater cops ever) and folks 28+ remember all the shootings/fights at concerts out here and don't really fukk with them. those old school rap concerts they had at the coliseum were almost all black tho...basically comes down to having them where black people aren't. you can do that for beyonce, you can't for schoolboy q. i live in oakland, 13 minutes to downtown SF with no traffic and i still didn't feel like dealing with the bridge

of course hes gonna get some play out there. hes from cali and hes a top 40 artist.

but apparently, they don't mess with him ALL LIKE THAT.

Everywhere...You never there.
And people saying blacks don't have disposable income tf :dahell:

How tf do y'all think R Kelly can still sell out big venues full of nothing but horny 35-50 year old black women?

Or old acts like Earth Wind & Fire,Frankie Beverley,The Isleys etc..can still be on the road doing sold out festivals? Black people will come out if they REALLY have a connection to your music, not cause you won a Grammy and have some slack ass shyt forcefed down their throats.

word. some of these dudes sound stoopid. Matter fact, I don't even think they're black.

I will say as far as rap goes, younger black folks don't seem pay en masse for concerts of actual rap performers, and instead pay for glorified "listening sessions" at smaller venues headlined by rappers who walk back and forth on stage all night gone off lean and who knows what else.

the schoolboy types would have to be in a city with a sizeable black population to see more diversity at his shows. .. OutKast has been one of the few artists so still keep a solid black fanbase across america despite going "left" with it.

In general we dont. Even the material things us as black people buy isn't really disposable income, it's usually us taking away from one thing to pay for another. Obviously this isn't for all but a lot.
concerts especially in the summer where most of them are held outside are much cheaper then your traditional stadium concerts, I went to a Wayne concert a few years ago and only paid 40 dollars for a ticket, but location also plays a huge factor, nikkas spend that type of money on weed and food daily so disposable income isn't a issue, I also paid 25 for a currensy ticket and I was suprised to see how many black people attended that show.

for example to gotti or boosie or dolph is performing at some hole in the wall club that charges 40-50 for admission that night your spending more money to get in and to buy drinks and other stuff and that's not even counting if you buy a vip booth, that's more expensive then a concert, I know nikkas who do this on a weekly basis.

Sound sound sound
festivals are an acquired taste...I wouldn't even recommend that shyt as a first time concert goer...you really aint gonna see shyt, its more a vibe and atmosphere thing

but actual tour and concert dates (especially bigger artists in current times with huge budget visuals) are lit

but white people can go because they can afford it...nikkas aint paying 195$ to sit in upper level seating to watch drake

outkast was always "left".

they came in with a heavy arrested development-esque r&b rap fanbase from day one. laface/arista.
