Also, in the modern era, Japan's biggest adversary is China, and yesterday's enemy is their biggest ally today.
A lot of you dudes have the mistaken idea that geopolitics work on principles and a sense of justice. They work on what is advantageous at the moment for the country. There is no advantage for Japan to be adversarial towards the United States right now.
